Top. Looks more OEM like an x5m wheel. From eBay? or who makes them?

Is the 2020 x6 lug pattern the same as 2020 x5?
Looking at winter wheel and tire packages for my wife's x6.

When i had my F85 and F15 with scorpion winter tires on the factory 20" staggered sized I wasn't too impressed with snow traction. It always felt like it was dragging the rear wheels in deeper snow during turns which i contributed to the wide tires. Its no where as sure footed as my old F10 running square 245 width snow tires in comparison.

I ordered my setup in August last year and I was so happy that I did because I got exactly what I wanted. I would order them soon. I ended up going with 20". Here is a link that we wrestled with on sizing https://www.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...php?p=25127919

I am glad the this topic has been bumped!
We will need to get a winter set up for our 2020 40i equipped with M brakes and air suspension. We have the stock 22s, but will likely shift to a 20 inch set up as it provides more tire choices. Given that we have a factory temporary spare for the stock 22s, should we go for run flats in the winter set up? Thoughts and recommendations? Thanks.

The 2019 x5 has a different bolt pattern so unfortunately you can not install them. Unless you used a 5x120 spacer to 5x112

No worries. The center bore is also different.
For the 2019 x5 you will want to make sure you have the following: Center Bore: 66.6 (can use larger bores with hub ring) Bolt Pattern 5x112 (can use other patterns with a spacer) I'd recommend sticking to the stock figures though.

Hi guys having a problem here. Have a 2019 BMW X5 4.0 with M sport package - Ordered Niche Misano 20" wheels, 66.56 bore size. Went to have them placed on with winter tires and installers says incorrect centre hub, and it should be 74.1.
The company I purchased the wheels from say it is the correct size based on multiple sources. Can someone help clarify? |

https://g05.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1760490 Misano is not winter rated, I believe, and has 74.1 bore.

... many aftermarket wheels are manufactured in larger hub sizes and the manufacturer supplies or pre-installs an adapter hub ring in each rim for the target vehicle. They'll often do that without telling customers about the adapter ring. Perhaps that's what's happening here ... the adapter rings are missing ("check the box"). This is just a guess, but, otherwise, vehicle hub size would be a pretty big thing for a wheel installer to be confused about. Big enough that, if true, I'd immediately take my car away from them. P.S. I am not specifically familiar with those rim models, but if adapter rings are needed, it implies the rims are pretty generic (which means not G05 stock offsets and rim thickness) and in that case I would be surprised if they don't also require spacers and different length bolts for mounting to G05.

Thank you all for the input. I spoke with one of the lead techs at the tire shop, he said that he even tried placing it on himself and for some reason will not fit. I asked if it is possible that the manufacturer mistakenly placed the wrong wheel in the box, and he said he has seen that before. For some reason, one of the workers there said the bore is 74.1mm (used in the M model of the 2018?). I cannot seem to verify that but it seems to be inconsistent with the information I'm getting from most sources (being that the 2019 X5 is 66.56 all around). You guys ever hear of cases where incorrect bore size is placed in box? I measured and got the 66 mm, but perhaps it is possible it wasn't machined correctly? Seems unlikely. |

Not everyone is willing to tell shops how to do their jobs, but they should just pull out their electronic vernier callipers and measure everything to get to root cause without guesses. From the sounds of it, one way or another this rim is not going to fit. It could be the bore, it could be adapter rings, it could be bolt pattern, it could be interference with brake calliper, it could be interference with some other part of the wheel well assembly. After root cause is figured out, you can then blame the right parties and figure out how to fix. Unfortunately these are the kinds of issues one runs into when not either a) buying stock from BMW or b) getting a turnkey shop to do everything as a single responsibility — it makes the vendor 100% responsible for all errors and uncertainties. If it's not a) or b), then you need to do EVERYTHING yourself, including measurements and test fitments before tire mounting — it's a pain, but there is no shortcut and luck is unlikely. I've posted before that there are a lot of moving pieces with custom rims.

As for being "winter rated", I've heard that is more of an issue in areas where salt is used on the roads (we use mostly sand now). Have you guys heard the same? |
