My dealers are telling me that there is a stop sale on these M cars with no fix in sight at the moment

Just got a call from my dealer that they want me to bring in the car for inspection of the tank ventilation.

So is it safe to drive? What does this mean in laymen-terms?
I finally picked up my car on Monday from PPF.

From my phone convo with SA, if vehicle inspection is performed it may draw a air simulating a leak. Currently not a safety stop. But that is all I could get.

Hmmm.
I have a newly delivered X6M that did a strange thing.
I took off relatively fast from a stand still and the car lost power as if it had gone into limp mode.
I'd pulled out in front of traffic and the loss of power had people behind me wondering what the hell was going on. i could not even do the speed limit.
I'm wondering now if it is related to this issue.
I doubt they would stop delivery unless the fault has the potential to cause an accident.
Has any one else experienced this?

Stopped in to poke around yesterday. I tool a X5MC out for a drive. Advisor told me later that he received information that the SS was to be lifted on the 18th.

I was at the dealer this morning. My SA said there is no information regarding any type of inspection or fix for the SIB at this time.

I still haven't been asked to bring my in yet, and couldn't get fix information either... Just that short overview of what the problem might be.... Dealers man....

I just got off the phone with my dealer. BMW is supposed to have a fix November 17th according to BMW Canada . SA says he thinks it's a software fix.

Hi I am putting my x5mc to service this thursday - changing oil after "drive in" or how is that called.

They told me that they need my car for all day service because of programming (calling action - tank p.).

So they alteady repair it but its not online update you must go there for all day time period.

Edit:
I will ask in service... but I am rly much afraid if they will not reduce power or loudness of my car!

My dealer just confirmed the software is being released to them, next week. Didn't have a specific day. Came right from the service manager.

Checked with my dealer yesterday, no recalls on my vehicle that are active, and I just bought her in October. So I'm a little confused.

From what I understand it only impacted certain cars manufactured during a specific production week (or weeks) earlier this month. Sounds like yours was manufactured before the week(s) at issue.
