I'm surprised how much Hyundai/Kia has said/talked about their Apple partnership. Usually Apple is a very secretive/quiet company.

luxurious ? I will give you that cool ? I think it's subjective, between Rav4 Prime, Telluride and X3, I think they are all equally cool, just differently no tax credit for x5 in canada because too expensive https://tc.canada.ca/en/road-transpo...r-izev-program |

The guy who said that KIAs age like curdled breast milk nailed it. KIAs and Hyundais are great move up vehicles for the aging fart can crowd. |

I've owned many Kia's they are great work cars or going to get dirty cars, thats about it.... They run forever and warranty is great and they used to be cheap. Oh and great first timer vehicles, but on par with Cadillac no way... I compare Kia to Fiat that's about it... I'd buy one (when they were cheap) but now their prices no way... They do however make great used cars.

In some ways this thread has surprised me, and in others it hasn’t. Lots of brand snobbishness driven by lack of experience.
We’ve had our 2020 Telluride for 27 months and over 30,000 miles. It has been flawless. We shopped it against the X5 and X7 before buying it. Shopped all Luxury SUV’s and the Telluride won out. The only upside the X5 has is the RWD biased AWD system and the twin turbo power curve. The Telluride is equal to the BMW, or better like with ventilated seats that actually get COLD and the warranty, in every other way. That being said, I prefer the RWD TT experience, so we will be trading my wife’s 2020 fully loaded Telluride for a 2022 X5 40 XDrive when our order is built. Our Telluride trade in value is locked in at $5,000 more than what we paid for it and we are buying the X5 at invoice less military - so I am giving my wife the color she loves: Phytonic Blue and me the RWD TT I prefer, and we will drive away happy - without regrets for the last 2+ years or the future. Those on this forum will definitely lean heavily toward BMW, and that is somewhat understandable. Yet, in this instance it lends to a lack of knowledge and understanding. On the Telluride forum there are a large number of former MB, Audi, BMW and RR owners who converted without looking back. |

Maybe we’re not snobs? Maybe we have our own opinion and it’s that Kia is not on par with the quality of materials and driving dynamics of the BMW and for those reason we choose the BMW.
I’m sure many luxury owners have gone to Kia. After all they’re $30-40k cheaper. Cost will always be the driver of all decisions. I’m sure if the cost was same for both Kia would have a lot less buyers. |

Gotta love the guys who bark about their Kia/Hyundai being "just as good as a BMW", sure they are. What a laugh, guess that is why this stuff costs 30 or 40 grand less. These clowns wouldn't even look at that crap if it was the same price range as an X5. Pay less, get less. Pay alot less, get alot less. Steak costs more than a hot dog. |

just to throw in, I own a 2021 Telluride and an 2022 X5.
The X5 engine is superior, the X5 driving experience is better, it drives more sports car like. BUT The Telluride is a better deal, and would be a better buy for 90% of the market. Last edited by Flanntastic; 08-31-2021 at 08:39 PM.. |

Get the Telluride. It's a great vehicle. It's decent size, good reliability, and very comfortable.

This thread is reminding me of back in the day when some guys were convinced that an RX-7 was "just as good" as a Porsche. I was younger and one of them until I bought a Porsche. Comparing this cheap Korean scrap with BMW is the same thing all over again.

For me its all about road feel, cornering, brakes, engine, and trans. I tried them all before buying my 2022 X5 40i. Only Porsche handles better, but I liked the styling and features of the BMW more. If all I wanted was a reliable A to B "appliance", there are many lower cost options. Telluride might be one of the good choices.

I know looks are subjective, and these photos don't show it, but I don't like the cheap looking lights front and rear on the Kia/Hyundai large suv. But the photo does show the excessive cheap looking black plastic trim around the wheels and along the bottom from front to rear.

Totally agree. I am a car guy, Mrs. Spuds sees them as utilitarian and is interested in getting from A to B in comfort and safety. Her current lease is an Infiniti QX60 and I drove that thing from NJ to AL to Nashville and back home a few weeks ago. Thing ran like a champ and I would have no problem owning one outside of warranty (except I think they are pig ugly and technologically archaic). I will NEVER own a BMW out of warranty as they are not reliable long term with all the gimmicky electronics. However as a sports truck I think my M50i is awesome.
