How is the fit and finish for the 3D MAXipder Mats … Would you recommended this over the BMW rubber mats … Also, I was wondering if you copy post some pics … Thanks in advance…

My vote goes to WeatherTech liners and cargo mat with custom-designed stickers replacing those with WT's logo: they fit perfectly and look pretty cool. Here are pics of the liners and cargo mat with a 45e customization:

I also have OEM which dealer threw in. No complaints other than the cargo area mat slides around a bit when loading and unloading heavy things. I just move it back in place when I am finished. No biggie.

I have had both mats. The BMW and WeatherTech mats are a thicker, bulkier mat than the Maxpider. Both mats are good however, I much prefer the Maxpider - it just looks less intrusive but provides good coverage.

Wow, those look way better than normal rubber mats - if I end up needing them, I'm going this way, thanks for the pics!

Thanks to this thread, ordered OEM fronts and rear mats (not liners) for my 2020 X5 for less than shopbmw.com. Free delivery in about a week.

The Maxipeder mats can be washed off like the OEM and Weathertec ones. I haven't really needed to wash mine off. The bottom has small grippers all across the bottom, so sort of like hook and loop, it does not move around, and because it's shaped well, really couldn't, anyway. There's enough of a rim to contain any melted snow or slush, but unlike the OEM and Weathertec mats, there are no ribs to raise your shoes up above that, so that might be an issue, but didn't seem to be a problem last winter...then again, I didn't drive much, and we didn't get a huge amount of snow.

Personally, I think they look better than the other choices I've seen. Their website didn't say they would fit the 45e, but they do. I thought about getting their trunk mat, but opted for a different one. Don't remember if I got it off Amazon or Ebay. I may have mentioned it here before, but ideally, you want a lip around the thing to contain any spills, because if it does get down below the floor, you could fry some electronics. The one I bought has a jog so it exposes the tie-down loops. The other ones from what I remember, if you wanted to use those, you have to cut the liner, leaving an opening for any liquids. It has a texture, but is still pretty slippery whereas the OEM and Weathertec seem to be a bit more grippy.

Whoa! I'm going to do this. Was it easy to peel off the old WT logo?

I highly recommend it: it is something really simple to do and makes your mats/liners look so much better and cooler!

Regarding your question, it is extremely simple as long as you do not follow the instructions that come with the new custom-made stickers

The instructions recommend that before removing the old stickers you heat them up with a heat gun/hair drier: trust me and don't. If you do, you will have to deal with cleaning up glue residue in the empty space for the label (no big deal, but still extra work/time), whilst if you don't and simply slide the blade of a flat screwdriver underneath one of the short edges of the OEM stickers and just lift them up, they will peel off easily leaving no residue.

On the other hand, I suggest you follow the other recommendation that comes with the new stickers, which is to apply some hi-strength super glue designed for rubber materials when you apply the new stickers (on top of the adhesive they come with). I have used a 3M glue that worked perfectly (I posted a picture in the linked thread if you want the details).

I had the OEM cargo mat. while grippy, I didn't like how the sides were so floppy, so I replaced it with the WeatherTech. it fits better, doesn't deform, though it's less 'grippy' than OEM.
Hello, what do you mean by floppy? I try to make a decision wether to get the oem or some after market. Can you help me with dome more details, please?

the OEM cargo mat's sides don't sit flush on the floor but rather, its design is like a bridge where the material goes up and over which produces a 'space' underneath. this is the "floppy" area

These arrived. The logo is not removable. It’s heat molded into the material and on the backside of it, there is a weld -patch- that binds the heat weld……if you remove it, you will have a depression of the material where the logo is.

I ordered the 45e, thinking might be even floppier. Also about the front and rear mats, did you go for the extra protection ones (OEM), or with the almost flush ones (OEM?

I’ve had both, and the weather techs win. Mainly they wear better and offer better function in the winter. The branding (weathertech sticker) can be swapped for your model or BMW etc.
