Winter Tires on M50 (20" square setup)

I live in Minnesota and this is the first year having the X5 M50. I had the Blizzaks on a couple Jeep Grand Cherokees but wondering if they'll be too soft for the M50. I want good winter traction which I know the Blizzaks excel in, but also don't want to lose all the performance or burn through the tires.

Anyone have experience with the M50 and winter tires??? I have the stock 20" 740M wheels and tires will be 275/45/20.

Options are:
- Blizzak DM-V2
- Scorpion Winter
- Michelin Latitude Alpin LA2
- Michelin Pilot 5

I have Scorpion Winter on 19". They are okay, but I am not with impressed it.
The car is heavy and powerful, so you need to be careful on accelerator and brake.

I had Scorpion Winter in 275/40/20 square on my older xdrive50i last winter where we were mostly in Tahoe and I thought they did well on snow/ice. Mind you, we were back and forth in High Elevation and lower quite a bit. But winter traction was solid. The previous year I didn't have a dedicated winter set and used DWS 06 M+S year round, so the Scorpion Winter was an upgrade in snow/ice. If you are in an ice tundra for part of the year, traction wise Blizzaks are near gold standard. I think some of the Michelin's could be a good compromise. Nokian also has an option that rates well in cold/snow/ice - seems to be popular in Europe.

As you know, it's a trade off between excellent winter traction and blowing through tires if you use them on non ice/snow roads. And as you also know, there is no substitute for safety and traction when you need it.
