Ya, we got none. Never had any; realistically, unless they really really cut features all the way back on my car, I'd still take it. I'm not even sure what the line would be - manual seats maybe? Maybe not even that. Right now, people are taking 3/4 series I think with manual seats; if one is refused, it's just resold instantly. The world's gone flipping mad.

I just can't get anything else close in this time frame. I *could* look for a used vehicle, but the used market is basically as insane as the housing market. You have to get lucky and move faster than the next desperate soul. It's freaking Hunger Games for cars. I'm no expert, but I know enough about leverage to know I have zero.

But, we're not the entire universe of people that got screwed by this development and who knows, maybe one is litigious enough to get a class action going. That'd be the only leverage opportunity.

Both my X5 xDrive 40i vehicles built on 11/10 and currently on their way to the dealer, have touchscreens, according to my CA.
I was able to decode one VIN on mdecoder, and there is no S6UY deletion line. The other VIN isn't fully populated yet.
According to the CA, of the dozen vehicles on the way to them, a couple show no touchscreen deletion, no $500 credit and do not have the stop sale line. I am to pick them up on Wednesday.
The orders were placed on 10/12. I tried to make an exterior and interior color change on 10/18 and I was told it wasn't possible because the interior was a BMW individual upholstry, it can't be changed since the parts were already allocated. I could change the exterior color however. I thought that was weird, since my build week was week 47 (later turned to week 45). I guess that has something to do with having the touchscreens, but I will know for sure when I pick them up.
FYI, one VIN is in the K38XXX range and the other in the K39XXX range.

Both vehicles (now in transit), on My BMW Garage do not show a deletion under the standard features. The K38XXX is decoding with no deletion showing, the K39XXX just shows it is an X5 but nothing else has populated.

I hope everything is accurate and you have the touchscreens. That would go along with the theory that they are not adding the 6UY until assembly since they are using the touchscreens when available and non-touchscreens when they aren't. Unless of course the touchscreen shortage is over already, I guess we will see if some built after yours have the non-touchscreen.

Something doesn't sound right about those two X5's
with touch screens. I have checked nearly every Vin for a week 44 and after X5 that I can find, every single one of them have the deletion of the screen on it. And the two he ordered has a touch screen?

I felt the same. I decoded vins that are 4-5 numbers apart and they have the deletion S6UY line.
I will confirm either way on Wednesday.

I’m jealous. I placed my M50i order 10/9 and got production number 10/12. I guess a was a day shy of being effected by the no touchscreen. Bummer… but I’m still taking the car tho 🏎

I hope so too. My CA was sure they have them. The vehicles are on the trailer on the way here he said, window stickers are generated and there is no stop sale on both, no $500 credit. It would be a major screw up he said, if those window stickers are wrong.
I called Genius, they didn’t see any deletions either but then the rep said, I doubt you have touchscreens. I asked why so if there are no deletions on the orders? He goes, because I haven’t seen a November build with a touchscreen. I asked if those builds had the deletions, he said yes.
I said, that’s a contradiction, he goes, it’s an opinion. I said I give up and hang up the phone.

My back up just in case, for at least on of them, is a M50i that has been sitting in their lot for 7 weeks, it has HK sound and touchscreen. In a way I secretly hoped that one of my builds didn’t have touchscreen because I want that M50i. Not having the touchscreen would be my only way out of the non refundable custom build deposit.

That’s a sweet build. It’s possible that they’re prioritizing touchscreens for certain builds, for example higher end builds (exec/mSport) with parking assist package. All speculations, I hope yours actually have the touchscreen.

Speculations indeed. He had X7s on that list with deleted touchscreens. But I think they had allocated the parts early on, because I couldn’t make any changes when I tried on 10/19, other than paint color. The CA said, all options are grayed out, just color can be changed. I’m still skeptical, until I sit in the car and touch that screen!!!

Hi! Is this the way it worked out? I got a production number on 10/11. I’m scared to hope!🤞🏻My x5 was a week 47 build but was moved up by 3 weeks. I hope to have it by December but I can’t get any concrete answers.

90k vehicle and my car won’t have touchscreen…. Im pretty sure I can live without it (I used to drive a 16 E400.. didn’t have touchscreen then). However considering the amount of money I’m paying for the car, you’d expect to have all of the bells and whistles.

If you really want to put down another $20K+, I'm sure you're CA will be happy to swap on of the 40i, just let them know before they prep the vehicles.

I would also let them know ASAP. My dealer had a couple of X6 on the lot for while then one day poof gone.

I did mention it, he said there is a premium on top of MSRP for the M50i, negotiable if my 40i has no touchscreen...
I said, how can you charge premium for something that has been sitting here and no one is buying?
There are other dealers that have M50i sitting on the lot longer than this one. I have options if no touchscreen on my builds.

Well, the F95/96 wasn't on the original email assuming that was from a credible inside source, so that would imply they'll still be built with touchscreens even if ordered today.

Hi guys, I’m puzzled by something. Called the Genius hotline this morning. My car is currently in production begins status with VIN assigned (but not decoding anywhere). They said my car is scheduled to be complete on 11/23 (does this make me a week 47 build?). Anyway, I asked him if I was affected by the touchscreen shortage and he said “I’m showing no deletions. It looks like you missed the cutoff by a few days.” But that doesn’t make any sense based on what I’ve read in this forum unless they suddenly received a shipment of touchscreens. Thoughts?

When did you order your build? My vehicle is to be completed 11/19. I wonder what the cutoff date was?

I've read in other posts that the deletions won't show until the car is actually in production (status 150 or something). Currently, the parts are being allocated and the VIN doesn't decode because it's not officially in production stage.

What day did your car show as "Production Begins", and what was the order date?

My car went into production on 11/5 and the Genius said it will be produced (estimated) on 11/19. I don't see any deletions either but I'm assuming once the car is in the next stage it will start to show.

I wouldn't take what the Genius says as gospel either. Before the Genius emailed me back with the 11/19 production date, I spoke to another one on the phone who said the production date will be late November early December. Based on the timelines others have reported, the 11/19 production date seems to be more accurate. So if two Geniuses gave me two different answers...I wouldn't hold my breath on their every word.
