It showed up on my garage the day I placed the order, 10/12.
It moved to production begins on 10/29 and jumped to ready for transport on 11/11.

I ordered my new X5 on 11/1 it went into production this week. I called BMW genius to ask what my completion date will be and the rep stated my car is scheduled to be completed on 11/24. I asked if there were any deletions of features she said she did not see anything. I than specifically asked is there a touchscreen deletion with a 500 credit and she stated there is not. I than asked if there was a deletion of the backup Assisstant and she told me she did not see see that deletion either. She than asked to put me on hold as she checks another system. She came back and stated they my vehicle is not effected by any of the production changes and will come with all the options I purchased as well as touch screen and back up Assisstant.

Based on everything I am reading here I am skeptical and went back at her a few times asking the same question about the touch screen and back up Assisstant. I got the same response that some vehicles were effected but yours does not show any changes or being effected by the parts shortage.

Keeping faith that she is right as my SA told me he did not see anything deleted as well. Well least not at this point

Just wait a bit. This status can change. It seems like the factory isn’t communicating the situation all that clearly; some comms seem to indicate this will go on for a while, but that doesn’t seem to be consistent.

Hopefully she is correct but keep in mind they have not been noting the deletions until assembly. You will have to wait until that is complete to know for sure.

For me online status updated around 9th/10th day with the deletions. Maybe check back when it moves to Entering assembly line status, if there is no deletes at that time, you should be good.

I was able to decode my VIN on mdecoder just now and it shows:

S6UY ENTF. TOUCHFUNKTION CONTROL DISPLAY

and for Transmission it says Manual

For what it is worth I have an M50i that is now status 155 (quality control) with no deletions showing from the CA vehicle inquiry report or my garage. It doesn’t seem that all cars are affected anymore.

I ordered mine 10/29 and still don't have an allocation fwiw. All the dealers I spoke with told me January delivery most likely so I'm just sitting right for now. Not pressing them for a PN, hoping this touchscreen situation clears up if I just wait. Not sure if that's a winning strategy but...

I'm also flexible though and don't urgently need a car.

Same situation. Placed order on 11/9, no allocation. So, I’m #7 in order bank. The dealer still hasn’t taken deposit from Amex I provided. They say they’ll take deposit once they have allocation. I’m holding out hope for touchscreen fiasco to end but will take delivery either way. Keep us posted once you get allocation.

FWIW, I'm seeing weird things with the X5s. I've checked ones in production (we only have a few) and they are not showing the touchscreen deletion at any stage in production. I checked a 4 series GC and it's in 150 and shows the deletion.

Checked one that was finished on 11/13 and it does not have the deletion and one that does, one completed on 11/14 and has the deletion, 11/11 has the deletion

My CA saw the same a few weeks back. While reviewing vehicles in 150 most had the touchscreen deletion but a few did not.

Yes, I think it is just a matter of luck whether a vehicle gets the touchscreen or not. It looks like they are using touchscreens when available and then filling the voids with non-touchscreens. Hopefully the voids gets smaller and smaller.

Well, no one has actually laid eyes on a recently produced x5 with an actual touchscreen, have they? I’m not getting my hopes up that the shortage is over. But, I’m going to be incredibly annoyed if they have solved the issue already.

We should get confirmation today or tomorrow since udmxline 's should be delivered.

I doubt the shortage is over given some still have the touchscreen deletion code, it is just that not all will have the touchscreens yet.

Yeah, that's why this language on the BMWUSA website is a bit concerning:

Some vehicles built in late 2021 may not be equipped with touchscreen.

It could (does? ) imply only some, say, X5s, not all (mine has it), and only during "late 2021" but 2022 builds will be unaffected

Hi all,

New to posting but I've been silently following this forum since June when I ordered my G05 40d (UK so wait times are looooooong!). First of all, amazing forum which I wish I had found earlier as there are some great tips on how to get the the best deals and what the best options are!

As you can imagine A LOT has changed since I put my order in, and here in the UK we have next to no way of tracking our orders so to say I'm a bit miffed and confused about all the deletions and who is affected is an understatement.

My G05 is now showing in the vin decoder (https://www.mdecoder.com) which I believe means the car is now built? My main question is, are the UK build cars affected by the touchscreen and back up assist deletions? There is no 6UY code showing and my car seems to have been built smack bang in the middle of these 2 deletions coming to light. My vin is WBATH420809K38701

Any help with this would be appreciated as whenever I reach out to my sales guy his response is "it's news to me" and "I wouldn't read into the forums too much" so not a great help. This will be my first brand new car and something I have worked very hard to get to so to hear that my dream car may not actually be all it was cracked up to be back when I ordered is worrying
