BMW X5 45e Stuck In Transit Forever

Hi Everyone,

My X5's status changed on 16th Feb to In Transit and was expected to reach Renton VPC on 3rd March. Unfortunately it has not yet reached Renton VPC and BMW Genius, CA have no idea where is it stuck inn the transit and how much time will it take more. My dealership is in Portland and I am getting impatient :P. Anyone in the same boat and has ideas on tracking it?

I’m in the same boat, but in the Bay Area. Mine left the factory around February 6 and departed Kansas City for Richmond VPC around February 16. It supposedly arrived in Richmond on February 28/March 1 but there has been zero updates on when it is supposed to make it the last 20 miles to the dealership. My BMW shows it as “In Transit”.

Have called my CA and BMW Genius, but no one seems to have an answer when it will make it to the dealer. The last person I spoke to at BMW Genius number at least seemed sympathetic and said something about labor shortages causing the slow down.

its still on the train. Mine was over a week extra travel time on the train PLUS it sat in the processing yard for a week when it did arrive to final location.

I’m in the same boat, in Seattle area. Mine left the factory on February 6, and still transit and no updates so far....

ya it's mostly train time now. The trains seem to be a week late going to the west coast. Mine was shipped on 2/14/22. It was supposed to get to the dealer on 2/28/22. It actually got to the san bernardino train destination on the 3/7/22 It sat at the processing center until 3/12/22 when it finally made it to the dealer.

Mine is still in Barstow waiting to head up to Richmond. More train delays all around it seems.

If your Bimmer is on train car TTGX-980832 headed for Richmond, the car seems to be stuck in Barstow. It arrived on 03/26 and then was "back from maintenance" on 04/03. Been in that status ever since. Obviously had some sort of issue that required fixing. My CA called yesterday and said the computer still says "In Transit". I gave him what information I knew and asked him to contact someone at BMW NA to see if they couldn't get the car moving again. I fear that the train car with all of the vehicles is just sitting on a sideline in Barstow being ignored. Everything was moving along rather quickly from order to production to leaving the factory and arriving in Richmond. Then it hit this glitch. Cars that were produced after my build are already at the dealership and and in customer's driveways.

Tracking my 45e and it has been in Richmond since April 6th. Hopefully will be at Dealer by end of the month.

Update: My dealer called and 45e came in yesterday night. Will be inspected by them and hopefully ready for pickup on Monday/Tuesday of next week.
