Actually it does. Mine's set to 80% at the moment but I may change it to 100% since there is such a large reserve that we can't access.

i would argue the EV JuiceNet app's charging stats are more accurate than the MyBMW app which uses the tilde approximation symbol (~) and can be plagued by server and telematics issues. as for the rest of the JuiceNet app, i consider it meh. i mainly refer to page 3 while actively charging and page 4 when the session is done (and sometimes the EVSE list page to ensure both JuiceBoxes are charging simultaneously as programmed)

javapro is this a new thing for the 50e, the ability to limit the charge to a desired level? doesn't make sense on this PHEV |

It makes some sense in public charging sessions to potentially limit the maximum charge level as many of them seem to charge partly by the time you are connected. Charging to full really slows down once you get closer to full.
If this is there, that's a new feature...it does not exist in the 45e. It does not jump out in the manual, if it is...IOW, I couldn't find a reference to this capability. |

Another feature I haven't seen discussed yet that is new with the 50e is that you can press the lock button on the key fob three times and pre-conditioning will start. You don't have to do it from your phone anymore.

when I looked into those apps in the App Store, both show they were developed over 4y ago, so I’m not convinced the Enel X Way is ‘newer’, maybe just supported. plus, there’s reviews for it from 3y ago. when I went live in 2021, instructions stated to download EV JuiceNet. you may want to use that instead; I believe it’s better (even though I never used Enel X Way) |

only some EU-based 45e could do that after programming the DIAMOND button on their key fob. U.S.-based 45e couldn’t because we have the PANIC button in lieu of that. still, I assume the key fob requires close approximation to the vehicle to work? when I activate preconditioning, I’m nowhere near my vehicle, so the app would be best for me even if I had the 50e unless the fob works across long distances and through obstacles |

don't get me wrong, i'd use the key fob when the situation would allow, but doing it as i'm walking towards the car just seems pointless since i'm gonna start the vehicle (and HVAC) in a few seconds Last edited by nZtiZia; 05-02-2023 at 04:47 PM.. |

so far, that’s two 50e telematics reports confirming 20kWh usable capacity, not 25.7kWh as published

Almost seems BMW is overly cautious for the US market. Using only 20kwh out of a 30kwh capacity battery. The non utilized portion is over 30%. If they utilized close to that published 80% of battery capacity, we should be able to get about 50 all-electric miles as opposed to 42 miles.
