Seatbelt swap?
Has anyone replaced their seatbelts?
How much of a task is it to replace them? I have a light interior with light colored seatbelts and wish to switch the seatbelts out to a contrasting color... black (or even better: black belts with M stitching!) If you know of anyone is looking to sell their black ones, please let me know!!! Thanks! |

Oh the little details You can change them, but of course altering one of the primary safety systems in your vehicle is probably not advisable. Rob |

I found this company who can change the webbing for you... its about $150/ea for OEM Mstripe swap ($750 for all 5). You have to remove your seat belts and send the seatbelt assembly to them and they have a 24-hour turnaround. There are YouTube videos on how to remove and replace them.
https://seatbeltrestore.com/webbing-replacement There is also a vendor on ebay that can do the same for about half of that cost... but I cannot stand ebay's policies. |

I've had the seatbelt replaced on the driver side due to warranty on my old F15 X5. They became all frayed. Its just a case of removing the upper and lower b-pillar trim, the door sill trim and then removing/replacing the seatbelt assembly.
Its not a complex job. I would estimate about 2 hours of labor. The G05 really isn't any different in terms of seatbelts compared to F15. |
