X5 50e on Order - Sapphire Black or Brooklyn Grey

Hi All,

I have an X5 50e on order and can still make changes. Initially I was really opposed to the Sensafin, but having a three year old at home this choice likely makes more sense.
My wife wants the coffee interior - we are on the fence between Brooklyn grey and sapphire black.
I have a 2024 4 series convertible in Brooklyn Gray, and we absolutely love the color. I’m just a bit hesitant to pick the coffee interior with Brooklyn Gray… (interestingly enough, our convertible has red seats which works great with red calipers and the Brooklyn gray).
Any thoughts on the color combo? Further, any thoughts on sapphire Black versus Brooklyn gray?

Thanks!

I don't think Coffee would pair well with Brooklyn Gray. Would pair better with something like Black, White, Red or Blue. Do what you like though. I've seen several combinations that I wouldn't have chosen, and they came out great!

Appreciate the insight. We decided to go with Brooklyn Gray, and the interior. The order is sitting in the order bank right now.

We went BG with Coffee and like the look - online at least as waiting for our build to move from QC. 👍

I liked the look online as well, but the wife thought it’s “too loud”, especially since our convertible is Brooklyn gray with red seats. Oh well!

I just don't like BG. have Sapphire Black with Coffee and I love it, but I do see 3 or 5 other Black X5s going to work every day so it doesn't stand out like BG does.

I also tried googling "Brooklyn Gray" at work and found out there was an adult film actress with that name. To be fair you could plausibly say that about Sapphire Black too.

While I like Brooklyn Gray, I feel like it is a fad color that will not age well. Sapphire black will always be a classic color. Take this comment with a grain of salt as I went with MBB 😂.

😂 What really convinced me the fact that I see barely any dirt on my Brooklyn gray convertible and there aren’t any swirls either!

This! I love white vehicles, and dark blues, etc. but also went with the skyscraper gray (more silver) as they hide dirts so well and you don't see as much paint swirl, etc. We have an almost black truck and it looks great when freshly cleaned, but that isn't most of the time.

Skyscraper gray is highly underrated.

Pro tip: a full wrap using matte ppf gives you frozen gray 😂.

FWIW, I've had leather on all my BMWs and I found them easy to clean. Dirt and gunk from my dogs and grandchildren cleans up just fine. I had Mocha vernasca on my '14 F15 and Coffee Merino on my '21 and '24 G05s)
