I’ve had my new 2024 X5 for about 6 months now. For the past 2 1/2 months my car has not stopped shaking.

It shakes when I break, shakes when idle, shakes when in high speeds. My dealer has seen my car 3 times. All three times with a different diagnosis which leads to temporary repairs then it will start shaking again. First they said it was calipers, then balance, then wheel bent. I’m back to the same shaking problem. At this point I don’t think it’s anything with the wheels.

I’ve been out of work to take care of this. The dealer never has a loaner so I have to pay for transportation to get to work. It has been a nightmare. At this point I want to start the buyback process or lemon law.

I’ve never done this before. I started the process by contacting BMW NA and they assigned me a case manager. What will happen after this? How does the buy back work? Will I be left with no car? Do I need to run credit and buy a new one?

So stressed!

I understand your frustration. I went through this with a 23 Lincoln Corsair PHEV. Here is the lawyer I used, I am in Florida, I am not sure if can help you or refer you to another attorney.

Unfortunately nothing will likely happen unless they are pushed. Become familiar with the Lemon Law in SC and then work with your dealer to see if they will help with a buyback or trade assist. If not and you don't hear anything from BMWNA then it is probably best to contact a Lemon Law attorney.

This is an extremely sad situation. Can’t imagine the stress and frustration. I hope this all works out in the end.

You should start getting familiar with how the lemon law works in your state - here's the linky. Looks like you're well on your way
