Given this was one of the threads I was looking into during my journey to find better sound on the X7 M60i I have, just wanted to share that I had an axle-back installed. Tone sounds great. Just enough sound increase. Cost me about $3k installed, so I’m pretty happy: https://g07.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=2077773

any updates on resonator deletes? i am adding the valve controllers early next month (dahler), and figure that combined with the resonator delete, the valve controller should bypass the giant muffler. Does that sound about right? this would achieve the same as a muffler and resonator delete with the valves in the fully open position?

From personal experience resonator delete with no x pipe just straight pipes and keeping the muffler as is - is perfect

Not my vehicle! Thinking of doing the same to my X6.

Here is an example of one that sounds pretty good, although the cold start is a bit much for me.

That’s horrible 🤮

Just finished my exhaust mod on a X5 M60i. Originally, I wanted to do an x pipe instead of the OEM resonator, and then 2 vibrant ultra quiet resonator on each side. After speaking to my local shop, we decided to leave the factory resonator and do a muffler delete with straight pipes.

Overall, happy with the sound. Not too loud, but some drone in the cabin. I'll be installing the vibrant resonators and see hownit is from there. Will post pics and video soon

I just did a custom muffler setup yesterday. Loving it.

Here is my setup:

- Stock resonator delete with straight pipes
- Stock muffler replaced with these
- Exhaust tips

I had to have the fake tips removed to fit the new tips. I had a body shop pull the bumper off. They are BMW certified and have done it many times so they were able to do it in 30 min.

Here is a cold start video
