Best X5MC after MY2020

Hi, ‘22 M8C cabriolet owner here. Bought it new and except for the depreciation, I have no regrets.

I’m looking for an X5MC after MY’20, but would like a CPO if possible, so I can extend the OEM warranty. I’ve noticed in the short time I’ve been looking, that there aren’t too many CPO’s being offered for sale.

I want to avoid the depreciation this time around.

I’m wondering which one you folks think was the best year to look at for something I’d like to own for 5-7 years.

Thanks in advance!

Also picked my '24 LCI up barely used w/ the nearly 25% deprecation hit baked in, is the better way to go. Have owned ID7 (F90), ID8 (G80), and ID8.5 (G96) interiors and thankfully the LCI G95/6 is effectively the G80 ID8 (and upcoming G90 M5) interior but you get to keep the best bits they're dropping in the G90 (massaging seats, soft touch, and sound system) and is my fave across all of them so far, with the only thing I miss from the ID7 interior being the physical climate control buttons.

Thankfully compared to my G80 that used ID8 and the same curved touch screen, the G96 on ID8.5 revamps the climate buttons and so you can actually have it remember turning off and a few other things across start/stop cycles that the ID8 system made you do every time you got in the car. I'd take ID7 (older display, physical buttons) over ID8, but I'd take ID8.5 in the LCI over both of those having used them all.

From what I see, I have no issues with the LCI changes that I’ve seen…that said, I don’t really care about the idrive versions, although it would be nice to have the same i7 as my M8 has.

What would be your suggestion? Thanks for your reply.

I’m mostly interested in the reliability of the particular model year.

Pre LCI is all ICE and Post LCI has mild hybrid

Best to try by test driving both versions

2023, last of the non-hybrid.
