Has anyone who coded also bought a feature off of Connected Drive store? I was wondering if that also resets any code modification.

Also curious pre-lci g05 Driver Recorder includes Theft recorder too.

I have never bought any connected drive store features so cannot answer that question but my belief is that the anti theft recording feature is only an iDrive 8 and beyond feature, meaning pre LCI's don't have it. I've not seen where they have released software for the pre LCI's for this and pre LCI's would be missing the interior camera.

I actually saw a code line for this in BimmerCode so I was curious if iDrive 7 might have a hidden feature in it.
The code is in HUMGU remote_theft_recorder (default: inaktiv)

I'd love to test it but I don't want to re-code everything I did.. it was hours of work..

hmmmmm, I don't recall seeing that but its been a while since I coded. Why would you have to recode everything in order to just change one variable?

I meant I'm worried about losing all the custom code if I go on and purchase Driver Recorder bc downloading that sounded similar to OTA update (which does reset the code).

I dont have Driver Record in my car yet since its 2019 version.

No, there is no OTA involved. It is just an Apps and Services update which happens all of the time. You will be good to go.

I just went to the Connected Drive store and only saw the basic Drive Recorder for iDrive 7, I could not find the anti theft feature so I am going to stick with my thoughts that its an iDrive 8 feature. They probably designed it in when they added the internal camera which pre LCI's don't have. I believe TurtleBoy answered your concern about over writing your existing coding.

I have a feeling you're right about it just being a dummy entry for whatever dev reasons.. but good to know downloading the app wont remove my codes.
