High Mileage Oil...
Hey folks, I'm in between my 'free' oil changes from the dealer, and I usually do one myself as I put on a lot of miles.
I did the change a couple days ago, 0W20 mobile (0W20 is prescribed by my manual and the dealer), but without realizing it until I had already finished, I accidentally bought the 'high mileage' version... My 2022 X5 currently has just under 40000 miles on it. Is there any harm in having that version of the oil in there for the next 3000 miles or so? Thanks! |

I'm sure it'll be fine for 3-4K miles - it's still a full synthetic, even though it doesn't meet BMW's official spec. Imho, that's still far better than car's using the correct oil but running it for 12-15K miles.
