Custom Order Heip

Hello all. I'm new to the forum but have been reading a lot and have learned a ton so far. I bought my first X5 as a CPO in 2015 and fell in love with the vehicle. I am now in the early stages of custom building a 2025 xDrive 40i Msport. I live in SC not far from the Spartanburg Performance Center and plan to have the vehicle delivered there. I understand that I should draft an email and send the build code to several dealers and request their best OTD price. My questions are:
1) What key elements should I include in the email
2) Are there any restrictions to what areas/regions I can target
3) Any tips on selecting dealerships to target
4) Would like any observations from others that have gone this route
5) Is 8% - 10% off MSRP still a good OTD price target
5) What deals, (discounts, interest rates, etc.) have other gotten in my area

I am able to pay cash or finance if the terms are good.

Thanks in advance for you help.

If you are close to the performance center you really have the whole country worth of dealers at your disposal because any dealer can have a car delivered there.

Not sure on your specific model but people seem to be getting in the neighborhood of 8% off, maybe a little more in some cases.

The big part initially is going to be making sure that you find a deal or that has an allocation unless you really don't mind waiting until they get one. I think initially you could probably just send emails to several dealers saying you are looking for this model X5 and find some dealers with an allocation and then you can start talking price with them. You could also go to the BMW website, build the model and then give them the build code and then they can look up all of these specifics for yours and give you a more exact price.

Here is my suggestion…do a build, send the dealers the code and say you are willing to pay $XX,XXX for that build (try for 10% off MSRP or so). I did that and someone said “yes” to the price I offered and that was it. No haggling, no back and forth, all the stuff was signed to put their allocation in my name within an hour.

I had better luck obtaining a CA name and contact info via phone vs cold email. Ask for the online sales department.

As noted above, you’ll need to make sure they actually have an allocation, make sure the allow for PDC delivery and just get a feel for how trustworthy they are.

Thanks for the info brother. I'm trying to get as much info as I can before I start talking with the dealships, and this is very helpful.

Hey guys. I just wanted to circle back with an update. I ordered a 40i Premium M sport in Black Saphire and Coffee interior. All options except trailer hitch, massage, ventilated seats and spare tire. Recieved 7% dealer discount and additional $4000.00 militery discount. Vehicle is now stuck at dealership due to the stop sale. Thanks you guys for your help with my order. Can't to take delivery when the stop sale ends.
