2020 G05 X5 M50i Rear brake replacement

x5 G05 m50i Brake replacement (rear)

Brembo rotor/pad kit from Rock auto
You will also need brake wear sensor if your brake light came on in the cluster

13mm wrench
17mm wrench (thin)

7mm allen wrench
Generic brake pad piston compressor
Bimmerlink & VeePeak adapter
(I tried ethernet cable w/adapter on and had nothing but problems)

Press start/stop button 3x quickly to enter diagnostic mode
connect bimmerlink
Activate brake service/parking brake
Make sure after you are finished replacing brakes to deactivate service mode

Was pretty simple. You only need to take off top caliper bolt and loosen bottom so it will rotate down. You do NOT need to remove caliper bracket. Line up the rotor screw with the M on the bracket (3 O'clock) and you will be able to slide the rotor out without removing bracket. This whole thing took me 90 minutes at dusk and never doing these brakes before.

Good luck!
