And that we have yet to see a vehicle released that actually received replacement parts / software update? There isn’t an official remedy yet?
Welcome to the forum. No, not at all there have been a number of folks whose vehicle was repaired since last Friday when the software was released.

I guess it depends on how a work order is defined. Before the remedy came out the affected vehicles were known and on a list to be worked on.

No confirmation of time frame, priority, stock level and if the parts are assigned to each VIN or not. All I got was: parts are at the VDC and ALL sold cars are a priority. Exactly what I wanted to hear {insert sarcastic tone}
Yes, I saw others with vehicles at a VDC referencing a work order. I think it is a case of those being put on that list to be worked on when the remedy is available for that specific vehicle. I assume BMWNA is assigning parts by VIN for those also but do not know.

Well, I've called it and cancelled my X5 replacement, as my dealer wasn't get straight answers from BMW UK.

For now I'll keep the 21 plate I've got.

Here's the note I wrote to BMW UK, and my sales person, on the matter - with mild redaction:

---
Please take this email as a formal note of cancellation of my X5 order. I look forward to the speedy return of my deposit.

Let me be very clear: this is no failing on behalf of -name- at BMW **franchise** or his company but entirely lays at the feet of BMW Corp, how it treats BMW UK, and BMW UK for its weak communications.

It's clear that BMW UK just isn't a priority compared to USA (for example) or the prioritisation just isn't being communicated clearly.

11 years of loyal BMW buying, many hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of car sales relationships, ruined by weak corporate comms. What a shame.

Let me put this in corp speak you can fire up the ladder: NPS of 9.x to sub 5 in two months.

---

I can only encourage those in the UK still waiting to also cancel their orders. I know we all really like our X5 (and many others) but if we keep 'taking it on the chin' and being ... well ... terribly British then BMW UK and BMW Corp behaviour isn't going to change.

YMMV - and either way the best of luck to one and all.

I’m glad I went to check the forum on the new m60. I have been working a deal to possibly trade in my ‘23 m550 for a ‘25 x5 m60 and my sales rep has not mentioned this issue once.

I just checked bmws recall with the vin and it has a integrated brake issue. Now I’m curious if he either has no idea or he’s trying to get me into the car just for the sale before telling me.

I wouldn't think it is possible for him not to know, just trying to make a sale.

Thanks and sorry to hear that, I’m pretty close to giving up myself for the same reason. Untold damage being done simply because of poor comms!

However reading it, I’m a little confused because it says “For vehicles over 165 miles”.. I didn’t see a procedure for vehicles under that mileage unless I missed it.
That is not the stop sale remedy, that is an updated SIB for the recall. We should see a new SIB dated last week that will be the remedy that contains the software update so there would no longer be a mileage requirement.

Otherwise, please release the vehicle
That wording was on the original SIB from February and seems to have been carried over to each subsequent version.

Update.

My original order on the lot is available to pick up. I was able to throw in a few bucks to cover the costs of a ceramic coating and another $500 plus they will honor the trade value. I’m ok with it. I think they are pushing to get this sale down before the end of the month.

I may regret not waiting a couple months for the hybrid, but my existing X6 is needing some work and new things seem to pop up every week.

Question. Has anyone gotten the military discount AND the financing incentives of $1,500? I was told that I cannot get both.

Appreciate any feedback.

You definitely can get both however the military incentive drops to $500 when using BMWFS and a promotional rate.

Nothing. Dealer is equally in the dark.

Might just be a coincidence, but I just searched the BMW UK website "New Car Locator" for an X5 50e (what I'm waiting for) and I counted 74. Is it because people are cancelling, or have they just got plenty of stock?

As the weeks go on, my car delivery also gets delayed further. Currently, the BWM system shows beginning of October delivery. I expect this issue will take at least 2 more weeks to be resolved. I am still positive on this.

I have learnt that my car is located at the BMW's warehouse and waiting for the new parts to be installed.

Took delivery of my vehicle today after 46 days. For those interested the software upgrade did reset the odometer to 0. I was originally at 35KM and when I took delivery it was at 22KM. They did not try to hide the fact and there was no further documentation provided with the final purchase relating to the roll back.

I got in touch with my UK dealer this week and they said that they'd heard nothing about and new parts or software updates from BMW UK.
