Hi all,
my X5MC order is in - MBB, Black interior, and 818 bi-color with red calipers. I am still in edit mode pre-150 status and of course as I pine away waiting, I've been searching pictures of the MBB with both the black and bi-color 818m wheels. Both look pretty solid, so am a little torn. My instinct is some contrast is good (anthracite is the perfect color on the MBB IMO) so I went with the bi-color. But the MBB is still light enough black could work. Would love thoughts from those with either set-up . Always hard buying without seeing first....BTW, I'd buy either off the lot. |

Sorry, I am not a big fan of black glossy finish in wheels at all.

As above. Need some contrast in the wheels for the detail to show.

I vote bi color. I had black wheels on my 2019 DG. I loved the look and agree that the black would look good with the MBB but they black wheels are a bitch. Any little mark on the wheels shows up big time. I'm not that girl - I rarely get curb rash but I had chips and they looked terrible. I had to have them done a few times.

This is my gut (why I ordered the bi-color), which I should listen to! Just like, buy the full M the first time |

BTW, I have the bi-color 818s on my MBB X6M. Good choice.

When I ordered my 2021 X5MC, there was only the 818 and 809 bi color wheels offered from BMW.
I am glad the 818's were bi color only back then. As it is the black sections show any light scratches. I can only imagine the gloss black wheels would be a nightmare to keep looking good. Besides, all black wheels are all played out. Everyone offers them because they are cheaper to produce in one color. Last edited by BobsM3Coupe; 07-08-2024 at 02:26 PM.. |

I had the 809s on both my DG and TBII - they were very nice, but I really wanted the 818m which weren't available either.

These are my BC Forged can't discount silver on MBB! But I would do bicolor if those are the two options.

Circling back to help others making decisions. Bicolor for the win on MBB. 818 in my case. The red calipers work brilliantly, a subtle dose of color showcasing the beautiful calipers.
