Hi all,

Building a 40i and want to spec M Sport and M Sport brakes. I'm thinking about adding the 2-axle Air Suspension, but it's requiring removal of M Sport. Is that right? Seems odd since air is standard on the 50E, which is available with both M Sport and the M Sport brakes. Wondering if this is a glitch or a genuine limitation in spec'ing a 40i? Thanks!

Yes that is correct. On 40i in N. Amer you can't select 2 axle with M Sport. 50e has 2 axle standard

Resurrecting because it looks like Air + M Sport is now available in the US on the 40i, at least on the configurator. Can anybody confirm if that's a change or a website glitch?

Any other rumors about MY26 changes, which should be right around the corner? Surely minimal, but wondering about option/package changes such as this for the G05 hoorah.

Hmmm...configurator does indeed let you add it but it could be wrong. Check with a dealer to be sure they can select it in their system. If so, I'll be a little miffed as I just got mine a month ago and I really wanted air but also the M Sport Pro package which won out for me.

My guess is that they made the change to allow it. It was originally removed due to supply chain issues and those are likely healed now.

And of course this happens a few weeks after I place my order, with production happening this week. Coming off a 2020 X5 with air suspension, I am slightly apprehensive about moving to the Adaptive M suspension.

Now if they decide to make B&W available on the 40i I might literally bang my head against the wall

I guess silver lining is it forced me to save some money.

Interesting… as literally just two or three days ago the configurator would request to remove M Sport when spec’ing the air suspension so this is very new.

Yeah I'm bummed too but the non-air suspension is pretty good (coming off an X3 M40i)...at least on 20" wheels and anecdotally, also pretty good with larger wheels. I'm going to look at it as money saved to feel good about missing out

We do need to get confirmation from a dealer since the Configurator is often incorrect. Maybe calbears can verify that air suspension is now available with the MSport package.

you can get air suspension with the M Sport package on the 40i. You can either choose 2VF (adaptive M) or 2VR (2 axle air suspension)

Makes me wonder, what value does BMW get from differentiating possible configurations of the X5 for different markets. I would get it if they produced them in different places. However, since X5s all come from Spartanburg (at least the NA and European ones; I don’t know about other geographies), it must only add complexity to their production management…

You can get M adaptive pro suspension with the 40i in Europe. You can get the double axle air suspension with the 40i. And yes, you can also get the IAS, as well as „full M” seats, or double glazing, or panoramic roof delete, or…

The limitations for NA are quite baffling

Is there an updated Pricing Guide in writing?

The BMW dealer I asked was the Ultimate Doesn't Know The Machine.

I've been trying to figure out for the last week if a 25XT with ZMP gives up the 2VR.
