Back handles does not have sensors anymore. How inconvenient is it really? My current car has them and I use it all the time. But I’ve heard there is an option to open on approach, does it work good even if iPhone is the key? 2. My current B&W sound system has a setting to focus on the driver. Is there a setting like that in X5 B&W? I couldn’t find it on my test drive. 3. Do headlamps bend in the corners? Had no chance to test it out. Last edited by naberlin; 01-18-2025 at 11:09 AM.. |

I haven’t gotten my 2025 yet, but already going to miss #1 and #3 from my 2021. I use the rear door unlock all the time, and have no desire to use automatic unlocking. I don’t want the car unlocking itself if I’m just walking by it in the garage or driveway. For #3, the lights moved sideways in my 2021, but I think the LCI lights have a fixed angle cornering light.

Upd: it says “Full LED Lights with Cornering Lights” on standard options list, wondering if it’s just for slow turns when there is additional corner light comes on or it is for the highway Last edited by naberlin; 01-18-2025 at 01:16 PM.. |

OsoJoe: I noticed your building a Tanzanite Blue II.
What date did you place your order with the dealership and what date did dealership get their allocation? On 1/1/2025, I placed my order with dealership over the phone for a 2025 X5 M60i in Tanzanite Blue II. On 1/2/2025, dealership got their allocation and my order was submitted and I got production number the same day. I called BMW Genius last week and was informed I have a Week 9 build (Feb 24-28), which was pretty shocking since I thought my car would be built around the last week of January or first week of February. I’m wondering if having Tanzinite Blue II is what’s causing my big delay, which I was informed that color shouldn’t. Last edited by frankzlin79; 01-22-2025 at 08:49 PM.. |

Oh interesting...thanks TurtleBoy. I was sort of use to seeing a lot of people saying "I ordered today" and then see that their build week was about 4 weeks thereafter.

Dealers will at times be able to revise an order that's in the pipeline for dealer stock to meet a customer spec. That’s how you occasionally see someone who’s Car is built 2 or 3 wks after ordering.

In addition to the above, allocations are spread throughout the month. It is just a matter of what production week is tied to the allocation that you get. It could be the first week, the last week or any in between.

I ordered mine in the middle of December. And gentleman above just a few days ago and we both got scheduled at the same week. It has to be components availability. I have a lot of rare options that people don’t order very often I imagine.

Absolutely not the case, time of order or what was ordered has nothing to do with scheduling. The schedule is predetermined prior to anyone using the allocation since it already has a build week attached it.

All dealers get the allocations at the same time. Then it is just a matter of when they are used and what week is tied to the allocation. Don't forget, many dealers take orders without having an allocation so those are just put into the order bank and stay there until an allocation is available to fulfill. Sometimes they may sit in there months until an allocation becomes available for it.

That makes sense since that is when the allocations were issued.

I’m glad my wife enjoys fast acceleration as much as I do. We are coming from 4 seconds 0 to 60 so it was not hard to sell that we need S68. Plus they only allow B&W sound (hate them for that) on M60, so it solidified the choice.

When we test drove the M60i, she literally drove it in Eco Pro the entire time and enjoyed it better that way. That's when my dreams died.

Same with me, congrats!
Finally allowed to add it to the app, which has the correct picture. But the website still displays a generic X5. But I guess after the VIN and production date are known, there is no reason to go to the website; all the updates are displayed in the app. Last edited by naberlin; 01-30-2025 at 05:48 PM.. |

2/13 Production Date
Not a new member here but wasn't active when I was. I couldn't get signed in with my old credentials after multiple tries and no response after many attempts to the administrator.
I just sold my 2003 E39 530 that had 46k miles and I currently have a 2006 E53 X5 4.8 with 11K miles. Planning to keep that museum worthy piece for now. Thanks to this forum I received 10% off MSRP plus $2000 in a rebate for using BMW Financial for a loan that I'll pay off immediately, or, the minimum term so the dealer can get their perk, whatever that is. The dealer is United BMW in Alpharetta, GA if anyone wants to explore it. I was so hung up on getting Brooklyn Grey but when I saw it in person I actually disliked it so much I went back to looking at other colors. It was between Alpine and Skyscraper Grey. SSG won out without much of a fight. I placed my order on January 27 and got lucky with an allocation for week 7. After doing the F12 stuff I have a ProdDate of 2/13. Status 150 and the vin was assigned in a couple days. I got lucky with the allocation date. Atlanta is 2 hours from the BMW plant so hoping I'll take delivery not long after 2/13. Here's the deets: 2025 sDrive 40i (I went back and forth on sDrive vs xDrive and although a ton of xDrives are sold in non snowy climates, I decided the rear wheel drive felt the same after testing them both out on dry pavement) Skyscraper Grey Metallic Cognac Sensafin (thought about black for a minute but the more I see Cognac the more I'm glad I ordered it) Black Fineline wood trim 22" M Dual spoke black 742M wheels. Includes spare tire (hoping I get the Pirelli's or Conti's) M Sport M Sport Pro-Red calipers Executive Pkg DAPP Climate Comfort Pkg Parking Assistance Alcantara headliner I'm a little old school and love the analog platforms of the E39/E53 but am super excited to dive into all this tech. I want to PPF it and ceramic coat it right away but thinking I might wait awhile just to make sure the paint gasses off and is cured. I'm already plotting out the rear wing mod for the X5M version. That will be done probably immediately. I saw the X5M in person and noticed that wing right away! It really transforms the rear. I do want to do a black X5 emblem and sDrive emblem on the back but it appears there isn't one offered from the factory? That was long winded I know. Thanks to all on here for your insights!
