BMW Credit Cards

Does anyone on here have the BMW credit cards and do they offer any real benefit to having them? I'm wondering if i should get one but the rewards etc don't see that exciting other than the 5 points per dollar earned at BMW dealerships... do those points translate to anything real? Let me know.

I did, it's pretty useless. Get a Amex Gold/Platinum or Hilton Aspire if you travel. Chase INK is good too. Points rack up!

I don?t remember the details but didn?t really make sense to me considering the other cards. That was years ago though.

"Point" is 4X points with free card (or 5X) for BMW charges + 25% added value when redeemed for BMW buys. Advantage over other cards with BMW spend.

That's really about the only reason to get one of their cards – they're not terribly competitive otherwise. I guess it just depends on how much you anticipate spending with BMW.

the BMW credit card isn't that great, unless you exclusively spend at the BMW Center.

To me BMW missed a huge marketing opportunity with this card just another generic bs card like Verizon card with literally the worst benefit and I would question anyone who gets those cards. Here is how they can learn from other card company and make BMW a whole eco system out of this.

Same as other cards offer different variant with different annual cost.
Here are the unique benefit BMW can offer over other premium cards that they wouldn't be able to:
1. Give premium card holder free loaner fleet when they travel within their country or even world wide. Obviously have to set up before travel with their regional point of contact and coordinate with local BMW authorized dealership. Obviously limit the amount of days and give higher annual cost card holder longer durations. Or they offer discount at competitive rate vs other rental car company so people can enjoy a low class rate for a premium car. Or, offer rental card credit like other card company do with door dash, hotels, and other stuff.
2. Expend their Life Style store for more product and have cash back or discount rate for card holder so BMW enthusiast can enjoy more BMW product. They do collab with hype brand so I don't think this would be too hard for them. I have a couple of BMW Keith collab product the quality is excellent.
3. Offer cash back for gas, I mean you are a car brand no? How is cash back on gas not a benefit? Offer 3% on low tier cards and 6% on high tier cards just like AMEX do with their cards.
4. Offer finance with credit card with 1% cash back. When you buy new/CPO cars your finance company is most likely through BMW of NA for special rate. At least for me in the US, not sure what other countries are doing.

This is how you lock in your customer, you can build a whole eco system and likely to retain old customers at BMW and bringing in new customers. Since Audi, Mercedes and other auto makers aren't doing anything like this they can literally start something huge, but I guess they don't care.

Agreed on all of these points, but boy I could see #1 being like herding cats with all the dealerships you'd have to get to buy-in and then actually have the cars available, etc. I could see that one becoming a nightmare. But yeah, you'd think gas would be kind of a no-brainer, lol. It sort of feels like the card was an afterthought.

Not debt if you pay it off every month. Works great, gives me points for money I was going to spend anyway.

Turns out you just have to be responsible and live within your limits. Who knew?

This. I pay for almost everything with CCs, but don?t have any debt outside of mortgage and car note.

Edit: I have two 0% CCs, but I?m arbitraging. I make more in my hys.
