You will not be happy unless you get a x35. Keep searching and invest a couple of grand extra, it is worth it.

Secondly, a car is never an investment. If we were all willing to "invest" a couple of grand extra into our cars, we'd all have an //M. He is looking at 328s for a reason. Your signature says you have a 135. Why didn't you spend a little more and get a 335, or perhaps even an M3? Lastly, If it was down to those two I'd get the one with the lower mileage assuming they are both in the same condition. Good luck and an early congrats! |

KM's are way too high for my liking. Option 2 would be the better choice if I really had to pick.

I LOVE my 328i, i've never had any problem with it (knocking on wood), no engine or transmission work....Im thinking of getting a 335 or x6 35 but i have a feeling that if i get a car with N54, it will give me sooo much trouble, not to mention HPFP!! If i dont end up selling my car, i would still be happy to keep it.

i would suggest the same. look for a 335i in the current used car market. i don't think this is an ignorant statement as the original post clearly says that he is "new to bmws", so based on this i'm ASSUMING that he doesn't know or understand the difference of a 328 and a 335i. twin turbo bmw has made a mark in the car industry, and a for a few grand more (new 328 vs 335 is like 8k more) its worth it. nafta, try crafting a more politically correct post. |

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=361484 I drew a fairly safe conclusion that he was looking at both the 328 and 335 models and provided my comparison opinion. 2. My comment is far from ignorant you may have taken it personally because you have a 328, the post was not meant as a personal attack on 328 owners. It is based on my experience and an opinion that I formed having driven both cars, from this experience the performance gap and enjoyment factor was significant. 3. If you would like to use the literal term of the word investment then you are 100% correct, if we are being literal then I should have used the word spend. However, buying a car to me is an investment in my time and the overall pleasure I derive from investing my time driving said vehicle. Refer to point 2 above as to why I would invest a couple of grand extra on a used 335 rather then a used 328. 4. When I decided to buy my 135 I drove the 128, 135, 328, 335 and M3. I would have preffered to purchase the M3 however the $89,000 price tag was out of my budget range. I landed on the 135 for three primary reasons; - I felt it was more nimble and agile compared to the 335 based on my test driving experience - I enjoyed both the interior and exterior look and feel of the car more then I enjoyed the 3 series - It was far less common on the streets than the 3 series coupe The $10k less on the price tag compared to a similarily optioned 335 was also a nice bonus. Do not get me wrong, they are all fantastic cars but this was my rational. I apologize if my comments rubbed you the wrong way but this is my opinion based on my experience with the vehicles.

To the OP... Price difference, km... makes me lean towards the Canadian Car. It should be easier selling a Canadian car in the future.

I give up. Nowhere in my original post did I say that I was stating a fact. The post communicates an opinion, please take it as such. Sorry for creating such a s**t storm.

Anyways.... back to the original question...
The price difference accounts for the mileage difference, so they're essentially the same, and both are manual / sport. I think it really comes down to whether you want awd, and which colour combo you like better. As for mileage, don't let the faster N54 guys fool you. I've had no problems with my N52, and I'm almost at 170,000k. Personally, for 2k more, I would get the Canadian car. |

Is the Canadian car from a BMW dealer? They must have some kind of warrenty if it is certified, and that makes up for the price.
You will get hassled with a US car if you go to a dealer for service, unless you have a good shop that you use for your servicing.

hey this thread is intense
so for the 328i coupes, yeah i think they are bit pricey for the kms they are offering. BTW both them are private dealers, they bought them off auction from BMW. as for my other post, http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=361484 i went offer to the private dealer today and the price of this car was $29,000 and he was willing to offer it for $28,000 with two year warranty since the factory warranty finished. the warranty was for two years, the first year being unlimited kms and the for the 2nd up to 24,000kms. so all in all, the offer ended up being $32,000 taxes in, including everything. |
