When I sent him the video of water coming out of the tail light. His answer was that’s normal and there’s no moisture lmfao 😂. Tried to copy and paste but he deleted his comment. Use another vendor. There are so many selling them. Anyway, I’m just giving my feedback. I don’t want you guys to get screwed over. It’s not couple hundred bucks we’re talking about. It’s a fairly expensive mod. The 1 year warranty is all bullshit.

seems like this batch has issues. My AKD doesn't have that sync issue. The only time i see it for a split second is when I lock the car and the lights would fade out.

Mine with the silicone has been condensation free so far with tons of rain and pressure washing. I only siliconed the outer larger lights. The inner lights don't seem to require it since the back is wide open anyway.

sorry guys to hear about all the issues you experiencing, I feel like it partially my fault as I was an advocate for the store everyone bought from (not that I made any profit out of it)

on the same note I still have no issues with mine, no sync or moister to report

I will keep my eyes open for sure, but its been couple of months now...

casual run to IKEA this morning (don't pay attention to "missing" tow hook cover ):

I was looking at the AKD site and there appears to be 2 options to choose from so I'm a bit confused.

2019-2022 or 2023-Now

I have a 2023 X5MC (pre-LCI) which has the same older style lights as the 2019-2022 so was curious if BMW changed something with the tail lights between 2022 and 2023. The 2023-Now option makes me think that's intended for an LCI replacement so maybe their stated years are wrong?

Trying to go OEM route. Would it still be plug and play?

I would check with the store, but from my understanding you need 2019-2022 pre-lci option

OEM will require additional adapter from what I heard.
at least now it should be available, I assume since I saw this being mentioned and done few times (unfortunately I don't have details as I never research it, mine working just fine for me)

LOL!

Two things I want to accomplish by going for MY2023:
1. Avoid subscription bs as much as possible.
2. Keep the old M Package Front Appearance.

Hi, I received corrective cables for the interior lights from AKD this morning. This should resolve the ignition synchronization problems.
...to be tested soon !

I've waited long enough for Aokeding Official store on Aliexpress to resolve the issues with my lights. They were going to send me a new resistor for the sync issues with my light. Have NOT received them yet and it's been over 3 weeks. They also said they were going to replace my right tail light...AFTER they resolve the sync issue. So they haven't even sent out the replacement, even though I have proof that they said they were going to send out a replacement. Why do I need to wait to solve sync issue first? Then just a couple days ago I had an error code on my dashboard regarding my rear tail lights. I may have gotten a bad batch as with installsplus, but I think reliability for the future is going to be an issue for ALL Aokeding lights eventually. I opened up a dispute on AliExpress for receving defective product and failure to receive replacements, and the Aokeding Official store responded, in Chinese, that "Fogging is to be expected in these lights" with pictures of their manuals...etc. They refused to do anything or any partial refund. AliExpress took over the resolution by sending me a free return label to ship these lights back, which I am very tempted to do. I just don't trust the Aokeding Official store to process my return correctly or timely. Especially with all the shady stuff they mentioned about selling their AliExpress coupons, and writing positive reviews, etc. Don't mess with this company and just wait for a better version to come out.

sorry to hear about all these issues, what a nightmare!
at this point since you already having issues I would pursue looking for OEM conversion, which seems to be popping up!

mine seems to be working just fine (knocking on wood) but something to keep my eyes on.

Definitely a bad batch and horrible customer service. Please guys do not buy from this company. I’ve been going back-and-forth for 3 months. They sent me a right side tail light, which is defective and Doesn’t work at all. Both tail lights have excessive water and they’re saying fog is fine. Meanwhile, I sent them a video of water pouring out of my tail lights and they said it normal. These guys are fucking idiots. Took the lights out, realized they’re leaking from the connection. I sealed around it hoping for the water to dry up on its own. Been using a heat gun for a few days now but it’s not getting better if it doesn’t clear up on it own with the sun I’m going back to original tail lights and throwing these in the garbage, it’s a shame $1200 Canadian down the drain.

How did you make out with these connectors? They’re sending me the exact same ones.

OEM LCI rear lights

Does anyone have experience in Europe with the OEM LCI lights? I just asked for information from a dealer in Belgium and their answer is:

"No, not possible with original lights. There are conversion kits on the secondary market, but we are not going to install them."

I have the feeling that they have no experience with this yet. Shouldn't you be able to order the original OEM lights and install them via an extra adapter as an official BMW dealer?

Has their been a consensus on a reputable vendor that is selling the LCI lights without condensation issue? Seems a few people are claiming a bad batch versus some saying just poor craftsmanship from the get-go. Would be nice to know which vendor is consistent on customer service and quality product. Perhaps we can setup a group buy if it works out?
