Interesting. I hadn't seen those stem covers. Turns out you can get some BMW themed ones in different colors as well. Hmm... Should I do red to match the brakes, blue to match the rest of the car, silver for the wheels or black for the tires...

Colored M stem covers

Yes it is. I bought 3 types and this was the winner because it is small enough that it didn’t protrude as much as the others which looked out of place. This was very subtle but still pops 👍

The G05 has the same weak, noisy, underpowered, and idiotically programmed air-conditioning as our E70 did, in stark contrast to the industrial grade A/C in my Suburban. In "AUTO" mode I noticed that the G05 tries to direct too much air to the large vent on top of the dashboard near the windshield, which creates a ton of noise and very little airflow or cabin cooling. It works much better in manual mode with the center-flow vents directing air onto your face, but even then it's still weak and noisy, and barely adequate on a nearly 90F day. And summer hasn't even officially started yet...

Anyhow, a WeatherTech sunshade to the rescue. These are great at keeping the heat out, and actually lets the A/C get caught up in a reasonable amount of time. My wife said she didn't need it, but just changed her tune when it's been hot this week.

Literally

What about kids getting locked in while playing? Does someone watch tooo much TV?

There has not been any mafia series as good as the Sopranos yet, BTW.

I have a 13 year old e70. I had the ac recharged around 4 years ago and it blows noticeably colder air than my brand new LCI X5. I agree on the noise, the thin vents look good but were a poor choice for airflow and make it so loud at higher fan speeds.

Overall I’m really loving my 50e but the ac is a weak point. I’m going to get the Formula One Stratos tint installed for max heat rejection.

Forgot to add in post 232 above - Installed a spare wheel sub in the trunk last week. Definitely makes substantial difference to HK for a fuller sound-spectrum experience.

Sure looks like a tight fit! and a lot of wires going to it for a sub. Is it actually a moving coil speaker or a thumper type coil?

Had the front driver/passenger windows tinted @ 20% and it's a perfect visual match to the rears.

Fits just fine and is bolted down over the wheel - lid closes without any issues. Not sure what a thumper type coil is - its a powered sub - not super high end sib for a bass-head, but just enough to bring in the missing low end nicely to make music more musical!

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BL41R2ST

Basically plug and play with the right harness for BMW G05 - more details in this thread:https://g05.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...2075495&page=3

Edit: Cables going to the sub appear to be a lot but most are unused (high level speaker wires) - what's connected is power (Red/Black) and low level inputs from LOC.

Drove it through the rain to work and back. It’s dirty now and I’m not looking forward to washing it in this heat.

On a positive note, my X5M spoiler showed up today. Will try to drop it off for paint in the next few days.

These metal tire valve caps tend to corrode in the treads and get stuck. YMMV
I had one the could not be removed. The rest were very difficult.
Maybe try a little oil on the threads.

Glad you said something as I just ordered a set but it says they are aluminum, are they not? That said, I just looked again and it actually says alloy aluminum, hmmmmm, wonder what the other metal is? None the less I'll lubricate with something, maybe anti sieze paste

The aluminum can still corrode. It's called galvanic corrosion. It won't corrode on it's own. It's a reaction caused by different metals contacting. It's like it bonds together.
