Just wanted to note that my 5-month 5-series build ordeal is now over. Placed order on May 31. Vehicle produced on July 6 and landed at Baltimore VDC on August 22. Subject to both the IBS and Steering Spindle Stop Sales. Picked it up on November 2. $1,000 concession from BMW USA.

So just had an email to say "your car has been allocated parts to complete the fix. It will now have a job card raised by BMW UK and go into the queue for being worked"
Anyone in UK have an idea how long this actually takes after this? |

My M60i was put on the parts list to be fixed on October 17th, it was then transported from Southampton port (it had been there since the beginning of August) to the Humber location (wherever that is) on October 22nd to have the fix done, the fix was completed on October 28th. When I asked my dealership when the car would be transported from the Humber location to them they said a tentative next week, hopefully. Your timeline might be different though if your car is already at your dealership. Apparently BMW are really slow at getting the fixed cars to the various dealerships, there are loads of fixed cars just sitting at Southampton waiting to be delivered. BMW UK website doesn't show a recall for my car any more. I will check the details with my dealer this week.

All I can suggest is that you keep checking on the BMW recall checker page, when it says...
"There are no open safety related recalls or technical enhancements on this vehicle" then you'll know the fix has been done and it's just a waiting game as to how soon it'll be shipped to your dealer. |

once the parts are allocated, apparently takes approx 2/3 weeks. if you have accessories to be added like ACE or tracker/immobiliser, it will take an extra couple of days |

You said in an earlier post that you car was showing as no open recalls on the BMW recall checker site, surely that means that the fix has already been done, well it did for mine. Parts were allocated for mine on October 17th and it was fixed on October 28th, my dealership is expecting it to be delivered to them sometime next week.

https://www.bmw.co.uk/en/footer/quic...e-recalls.html Put in your full VIN number and it will tell you if there are any open recalls on your car. When I checked mine on October 27th is said there was a stop sale recall on it, when I checked again on October 29th (the day after the fix was done) it said.... There are no open safety related recalls or technical enhancements on this vehicle. Not sure if your dealer knows what he's talking about. |

I'm waiting for an ex-demonstrator X5 - so "used". The Belgium recall checker shows a recall on the VIN number but the UK recall checker does not (and never has). Is there any point in me looking at these?

There was no recall showing on the ‘lookup’ but as of last week, the recall is now showing and I have heard from my dealership today, that it appears that they are beginning to move the fix onto approved bmw sold cars (all the brand new ones are being done first). They are going to have more news on Monday / Tuesday next week for me but it looks as if things are potentially moving for bmw approved used cars maybe? So in answer to your question, the recall was showing nothing, now is showing something and it maybe that my car gets the fix soon (fingers crossed) |
