If you are Military or have PenFed account, that will give you some significant discount.

Thank You, but no a mere (legal) immigrant so no discount there. Also no discount from BMWCCA due to not enough time but thank you!

Anybody can open a Penfed account, you should ask your dealership if you have an established relationship with them to give you at least 2-3% off.

Penfed's site says I have to have a relationship for 60 days first.

That is correct, if you are not in a rush to get your X5 M50, I would sign-up for a Penfed account and look for >3% off MSRP before rebates.

So the $3250 from Penfed can be used on a build? Or has to be a new car on the lot?

If it can be used on a new build, say I use the $3250 bonus cash and finance with Penfed, since BMWFS drops it down to $500. Will the dealer frown upon that and mark the car up because you aren't using BMW? I've heard of dealers doing that in this market since most of their gross comes from the front end and you'd essentially be bringing your own financing, Penfed in this case.

It is a military incentive that can be used on both. It should not have any effect on the dealers except for those who try and mark up the APR.

You don't have to finance with penfed. Just not bmwfs in order to get the 3250. If you lease or buy(build or inventory) with bmwfs then it's only 500.

Makes sense. I was just using Penfed as an easy example since I already have an account.

Just for reference if you have a good relationship with your dealer they absolutely can beat bmwfs 1.9. I used the 3250 penfed rebate and told them a week prior that if they want to shop around do that otherwise I'm going to do penfed online 60mo 1.9.

They came back with 1.79 for 60 or 72 at a local credit union. So basically I didn't have to do any work and I got a great rate as well as the penfed incentive. Also, penfed is working for 2022 models right now if anyone tells you otherwise

Pardon my ignorance but how do incentives work? Right now I see a $3250 incentive on BMW's website for 2022 X45e. Does this have to be included in the paperwork that you sign to purchase the car or does it have to be after purchasing the car?

I haven't seen that incentive but they are regional so perhaps your area is different. It could be that is not an incentive but rather a dealer discount/sales event. When ordering you can work with your CA to see what incentives you are eligible for. When you run the credit app the current rates/incentives are locked in. That is a no harm lock though so if the incentives are better when you pick up the vehicle you can take them.

Hey so you were able to get $3250 PenFed discount on MY22 X5?
Do they check if you are actual military or they just need the code?

You need a code from BMW's ID.me. You can generate the code once you link your USAA account (not sure what else you can use). You have to fill in your information and select your BMW center. You must click submit. So it generates the lead for your dealer (only then will the code work).

Another option is to generate the code via your PenFed account (truecar).

And yes it does work for MY22 X5

So I take that you are actually in the military and passed ID.me check?

I do have PenFed account and is able to generate the code this way, but I am not in the military so I don't know if dealers will give me any trouble for using this code.
