I originally had ordered exactly the same artic grey xline and wheels but changed last minute to m pack with chrome trim like with x line. I think you can't get that i the US? I prefer the chrome too.

Not sure if this will make sense but:

BMW provides satin aluminum trim as a no cost option on specific models with M Sport line.

For all markets USA and International, shadowline M Sport trim is standard (limited to windows, roof rails etc) in the ordering system and international markets will have a no cost alu trim option.

BMWUSA offers no cost alu trim on specific vehicles with M Sport option or on ///M vehicles - for example current 430i/x Series coupes with M Sport and previous F85 X5 ///M and X3s.

TL;DR
- shadowline trim is standard on M Sport models for all markets
- alu no cost trim is available for international and specific USA models
- extended shadowline - grill, exhaust, etc as add on cost

In Belgium Satin Chrome is standard with M pack and black trim is a free option. I think 95% chose the black trim but I do see others with satin chrome like me in Arctic Grey and Phytonic blue. With black / carbon black and white the black trim looks better. AG an PB can have both.

Totally agree with you regarding AG and xLine trim being (IMHO) a match made in heaven!

When I went to order my X5 I was undecided between Dark Graphite and AG - when I saw AG inside the dealership I liked it but was not immediately sold on it - then I was shown an X7 in AG parked in the dealership's lot and when I saw that it basically subtly changed hues depending on whether it was in full sunlight or in the shadow, with those amazing bluish/almost purplish reflections, I had no doubt whatsoever that AG had to be my color! I love it!
