Your new BMW has left the factory, and is on its way to you. This shouldn't take long because we're in SC. Our dealer is going to take a day or two on prep (tinting windows and such), but overall we've really had a very quick turnaround from order (5/20) to the car being ready compared to many others. Hopefully this will be the new trend going forward for new orders. Our dealer (Charleston SC) only gets one allocation per month so we were definitely lucky to get the June one so late in May. |

Update on my 50e ordering journey!!
1) Ordered on 5/22 and within a couple of days went to 112 2) switch to ind color which was accepted on 5/25. 3) Using F12, saw today that it was in code status 111. Two unrelated points: First, I asked SA about CEL problems and haven't heard back yet. But Ive decided Im going to stick with my decision and hope for a fix before I take delivery. Second, when I ordered my car, two dealerships were saying MSRP without discount for 50e's. Is it reasonable to try to negotiated when the car is delivered? I think there will be more choices for 50e's in September. I have to stay, In super excited. Ive never ordered a car before! |

Maybe you should consider the move that motorcycle buyers use next time. Fly and ride. I've bought a couple of motorcycles and flew to where I bought them and rode them home. BMW and their allocation process is a PIA as far as I'm concerned. Not sure if this is legit or a way to fleece the sheep better. Each time a dealer told me I'm out of allocations, they seemed to always come up with an allocation when I was headed for the door. Discounts are available on the 2025 50e. I got a discount when I ordered my 50e. Now if all the BMW car dealers around you are in cahoots, your job just got a lot tougher. Thus the fly somewhere and buy one process comes into play. Car buying to me is a ROYAL PIA as it's a complete adversarial process. You HAVE to walk away and never buy on the first visit to a dealership. Case in point. Buying a new Ford a few cars ago. Second visit to dealership and after a couple of offers and counter offers from dealer, made an offer below the dealers supposedly final and last offer. He said, no way I can sell you that car for that price! Waited two weeks and called him back and told him my offer that he had refused was still good. He accepted the offer. But with the allocation process, they seem to play a game with us to make us think cars are like hens teeth. Discounts are back in the overall car market after the covid situation has abated. The dealers and manufacturers are back to cutting each others throats. You just have to have patience and endure the leg work. DID I SAY I HATE THE CAR BUYING PROCESS?!!! |

Ive never gotten used to the process. I buy a car every 8 years or so. and I resist and resist until I give in. Then I don't get the best deal.
If you don't mind, about how much did you get off? If its 1-2%, that's one thing, while 4-5% or higher is another. I could cancel my order and start over. There are many dealerships in the area. This car is a "want", not a "need". |

I'm gathering because of the limited allocations for the 50e and even fewer for the X6, getting much, if anything, off MSRP is a tough ask. However, you can get some incentives: Possibly BMW loyalty if you have ever bought one from a dealer, military via USAA, or maybe the BMW car club. Be creative... so, you can't negotiate the MSRP down, but get the dealer to throw in some freebies, like all weather mats or cargo liner, etc.

Mine was ordered early October 2023, built 1st May 24 (MY25), and delivered and broke down today (25th June) and fully bricked with a red Drivetrain Malfunction with a total 14miles on the clock. No engine start, no elec motor…only the dash and aircon worked!
I’d suggest to future buyers to think seriously about ordering these fault riddled 50e’s anytime soon!

One of my biggest peeves is dealers putting their badging on cars... license plate frame is bad enough, and with a heat gun you can get the badging off... annoying, but you can get it off. But the SOBs that put the dealer name in a decal, like this shit:

100% agree. Seems to be more of an East coast practice of badging cars with the dealer name, but a decal is even worse. To me, anything beyond the brand on a car is giving either the dealer or manufacturer free advertising. Why do I need strangers driving by to know that my car is "XDrive" or even that it's an "X5"? Some may think I take this too far, but anything beyond the BMW badge is annoying to me.

A dealer near me told me he has two "slots" where orders for 50e's are already approved and prioritized, but there is still time for me to alter the build they ordered for dealer stock.
How can I determine whether this is actually the case or if they are simply entering a new build for me? It's relevant because I am jumping from another dealer I've been talking to to this dealer in order to accelerate build and delivery time. Any thoughts? |

I guess if that is important to you then ask them for the VIR (Vehicle Inquiry Report) on the allocation that they will change for you. That will show you the allocation and that it is Priority 3.

I very clearly tell dealers to not add any badging or decals to the vehicle, and I have never had an issue. The whole thing is a pet peeve for me as well, but in my experience, it can be avoided by setting those expectations up front.
