Not sure about the massaging seats though as never had them, the 8-series doesn't even have them standard or an option. There's been scuttlebutt regarding that on the 8-series forum from those coming from M5s with the massaging seats. That said I'd seriously still doubt a supply chain issue vs they just never designed them in the 8-series seats which are drastically different from the 5 series or X series. |

While some don't think it's true...there are still supply chain issues. Throw in shipping bottlenecks, and getting parts is tough. BMW would like to sell you more expensive options, but would rather than allow you to order them, then tell you sorry, can't do it...so, they allocate them to markets/models where they deem them more critical and can meet their availability.

The parts to volume being the key as X5's (along with most SUVs) sell like hot cakes and dominate the automotive market share in the US. Big coupes like the 8-series are a dying breed. Rumor being after the 7-year lifecycle the 8-series is dead after the 2025 MY and is likely going to be a mashup of the 6-series (GC's still sold in other markets) and 8-series but GC only. So BMW can offer the B&W with the associated RAM module/booster all day long for the 2023/2024 8-series regardless of variant due to low volume. X5? Likely not a chance in hell they can do so at their high volume. |

Edit: granted an Internet source but considered accurate although it didn't have 2022/2023 sales figures for X5's in CA the volume discrepancy is is completely apparent (more X5's sold in the US in Q2 2023 that the entire year in CA 2021). |

Sounds like bad information someplace. The next version of the 8 Series will debut 7/26 and will run through 6/33. It will be the G75/G76/G77/G93 which are the 8 series coupe, cabrio, GC, M8GC.

One saving grace is the new AMG GT coupe my fellow 8 series brethren all have an eye on. I almost bought a LC500 but the Infotainment system was abysmal back on the 2020s but the 2024s have the new NA designed one rolled out across the rest of the Lexus line in 2020/2023. Less performance than the M850i but gorgeous and the NA V8 is beyond glorious. The other aspect is hybrid/PHEV/EV. If the 8-series does move forward with for me the G75 and it's any one of that mix vs pure ICE I'm out along with the rest of us current M850i/M8 owners. If I wanted an EV I'd buy a dirt cheap Model 3 or even a S (on my shortlist back in 2019/2020) in comparison to the nose bleeds of the performance ICE world sticker price. If I can fit in a 911 at 6'6" (I've been told the 991/992s have more roof height than the last time I tried a 997) that may seal the deal. |

Like in my country hybrids were interesting if you puchased it before June 30th. Now they want to go full EV and the governement doesn't stimulate hybrids anymore. One of the reasons the 50e was so early on the market here to order. They sold like hot cakes with a crazy end rush in June. Now that hybrid market has collapsed. |

Glad to hear that. The 8 series is a fantastic vehicle. I will likely be an early adopter of that next generation.

If you are older or not very tech savy and used to "dummy proof everything" then you will have an issue with ANY NEW CAR because the future is NO BUTTONS lol SO instead of complaining because you don't have it in you to learn how to use the car correctly or learn how to navigate it - I highly suggest staying with your older X5 models with a million buttons and keep your complaints to yourself. I don't mean that in a mean way, but don't hate on a new car because you don't know how to use it. The new X5 is FREAKING AWESOMEEEEEEEEE and I think everyone should get it!!! LOLOL

And to B&W, I don't believe the omission is due to current supply chain any more. BMW sells about 65K X5 per year, how many of them with B&W?? After the real supply chain issue in 2022, BMW must figure out omitting it in certain trim actually doesn't impact sale number at all, why bother to bring it back to complicated manufacturing assembly line and logistics

Computer coding and knowing how to operate a dashboard on a car are little different lol ....I am not a coder nor need that skill in my everyday life. I apologize if you were offended by my comment.
