Just ventilation could help if the vehicle had been on recently, as there'd still be some residual heat you could move into the cabin. In the summer, being closed up, running ambient air could expel some excess heat so it would be better than nothing.
Now, if you had the PHEV, all of the hVAC is battery driven, so you get heating/cooling without needing the ICE to run at the expense of battery range unless it's plugged in. |

Sorry to revive this thread again.
Surely it's soeerthing that BMW should be enabling via an update? My fathers 2019 RR Velar had this and it's awesome, I was toying with the idea of a RR Sport when I get the X5, sort of wish I had now... |

If I remember correctly, the 7 series in the UK has this feature (possibly other versions too), not sure why it wouldn't be a thing for the X5
