Unfortunately on the day I took it in, it did not present the issue (it was a very hot day, and auto start/stop does not come into play when all of the electric water pumps are running/too much draw on the battery)
It's hard to get an accurate portrayal of the surging, but as you can see the vehicle comes to a stop (shows 0mph) then starts again. Let me know if this link works for the 3 videos I uploaded. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?lis...FFD-TfPwhV2SDF |

That is super weird. Are you maintaining the exact same brake pressure the entire time?
You stay in first gear too.

I can't see the surging but it is odd that it shuts down and starts up right away if you aren't lifting the brake. If no tech was able to experience it that may be why they are saying it is normal, they may not be understanding what you are saying. Take it in again when it is cooler so you can have them see what it does.

I don't lift OFF the brake, but I do ease up (as to not have a sudden stop) but the brake is never fully released. Under normal circumstances, the amount of brake pressure I have applied would keep the car stopped. A tech in Loveland said they experienced it (but provided no written report) What I find odd is that I've had this thing looked at 5+ times and no one (not BMW Loveland nor BMW NA) will provide me any of their reports/share how they tested it, etc. Literally have received nothing in writing from them despite repeated requests.

Did you talk to Jon? If not, schedule some time with him to explain what is going on, your concerns and your plans for pursuing a Lemon Law claim. Hopefully he will be able to help you with getting things checked and also with a possible buy back. The problem with a Lemon Law claim at this point is trying to prove that there is a problem. They must be giving you something when you check it in, is there any information on those sheets?

I don't know Jon. Is he at Downtown Denver BMW? I bought it from Loveland, and BMW NA already stated they would not be willing to buyback the car.
They are literally refusing to give me ANY paperwork about the testing or the results. It's very disconcerting. |

Shot in the dark, but could it have something to do with auto hold? Do you have it engaged? When I had my first F86, I started using the auto hold because the car would roll forward or backwards when stopped at a light during that brief moment it took me to go from brake pedal to gas pedal when the light changed. I would either go forward or backwards depending on the grade of the road. Previous generations the gear would hold it back but that changed. I had to get used to pressing the brake down until it engaged the auto hold. Again, shot in the dark but thought it was worth mentioning.
I have a 2022 F96 now with auto hold always on. Not sure if it’s still an issue.

You either dont have an X6M or your ECU is broken.
Auto start/stop is saved on all M vehicle on its last setting before the car turns off. I pushed my start/stop button once over 15 months ago and never pushed it again. The car has never turned off at a red light. |

I had an issue with my auto start stop not remembering my settings. IDrive software upgrade resolved the issue. It did not exhibit any of the symptoms on stop that you are seeing.

Have you tried to manually down shift to 1st prior to fully stopping. I know our generations are different (F85 vs F96) but when I first got my X, the issue I had was trying to stop slowly and smoothly. When I was stopping slowly, it would almost come to a complete stop and then it would downshift to 1st from 2nd. At that moment the car would lung forward. The issue was that I was not applying enough brake pressure to overcome the downshift. |

It doesn't seem to matter (in reference to downshifting), as the car is in 1st gear when stopping.
This is the car lunging forward after it's at 0 mph (video shows it going back to 1 mph after hitting 0 mph) Even if I'm able to program out auto start/stop, this really shouldn't be happening under any circumstance. It bugs me that BMW is claiming this is how the vehicle was designed to operate. Who in their right mind would design a car to lunge forward after it's stopped? |

Coding doesn't void your warranty. Coverage can only be denied if BMW can prove that coding caused the problem. If you are using Bimmercode, and not screwing around in Export mode, it will be almost impossible, if not impossible, to cause such a problem.

I've hired an attorney to take BMW NA and BMW Loveland to court (as they aren't even willing to continue to diagnose the issue). I'm pretty let down by BMWs lack of concern/caring about their end clients. The car now goes into storage and won't be driven until we've finalized the court case, I suppose.
