Seems strange they'd only send 2 of the 4, doesn't sound right.

Good to know that once the wheels are forged(in China I assume) they head back to WF for final inspection, packaging, and shipping.

The good news, the design and finish look spot on!

Applied ceramic coating this morning; NYC Ammo wheel gelee because this design will be a challenge to clean if not protected. Had more time to look at the finish of the wheel and it looked great.

Received an update from Fed Ex. Looks like they do have it (based on trackin #s), which is confusing and in contradiction from what the rep told me yesterday.

Fingers crossed they arrive tomorrow.

Yes, it was a render done by RUSCH. I ultimately did not order from them because of the wire payment to a foreign account.

Other two wheels are expected 8/10 and will be put on 8/11

I wouldn't use the dealer for that...

My tire shop has great touch less machines & tire technicians....and the same goes with them getting road forced with minimal weights in black or grey weights to blend with the barrel. He's even got the adapter hub plates so no cone -get's put on the hub bore but it's a touchless lug nut engagement...

If he's mounting or dismounting, even though it's a rubber cone, he will use a towel on the bore and also put tape on the outer wheel face where they seat the tire. Little small details like this all add up
Decided not to go with dealer. My local tire shop uses road force machines and they’ve done a great job with other aftermarket sets I’ve had over the years. They are also $200 less than the dealer.

Update: I had ordered Pirelli PZ4s through my local dealer. Picked them up today and was incredibly displeased. 2 of the 4 tires looked used and I spoke with the parts guy (hit or miss on how that would go) to show him my concerns. Told me, "it looks like that because of how it was stored". Rubber on the 2 of 4 was dry and faded black. The other 2 felt tacky and not faded.

Drove to Discount tire to have them take a look. Immediately they noticed residue from lubricant that had been applied to the inner lip at some point in time. He would consider the 2 tires used. That was enough for me to confirm my own beliefs about the tires and I drove right back to the dealer for my refund.

It is a shame that quality no longer exists with many companies/services these days. BMW service advisor took them back with no issue but also tried to tell me perhaps someone had them mounted and changed their mind after a drive in the lot...or that someone just put them on and then traded their car in. Nice guy so I won't knock him for trying but that means the tire is USED. Won't be buying "new" tires from BMW again.

Discount is trying to source tires for me so fingers crossed. After this experience, I'd rather wait to get the right rubber.

Sorry to hear that you're running into so many hurdles. May I ask why you didn't just go with TireRack?

Couldn't find a complete set due to backorder status on either fronts or rears. Only interested in Michellin or Pirelli. That said, I'll circle back to tirerack now!

UPDATE: Going with Michelin PS4s but with 285/35/22 in the front. Not what I wanted but its available and adds a little more cushion to protect the rim on the road.

Weighed each rim this morning. * I did use a microfiber towel between the rim and scale. Given the size of the rim, I measured the weight 4-5x to make sure it was consistent since I could not lay it flat.

Fronts 22x10.5 =33.2
Rears 22x11.5 = 36.0

That's pretty damn good, considering the OEM 742M wheels are approx:
Front 22x9.5 = 43lbs
Rear 22x10.5 = 46lbs

10lbs weight saving on each wheel in a wider size!

Wheels installed!

I think these offsets are perfect for the rim size.

Car needs to be washed but here are some pics from the tire shop. They were equally excited to see these mounted. So glad I went with Michelins. I believe they have a mileage warranty where as the Pirelli do not. Could be wrong but I think they mentioned this. Tires were $2800 when it was all said and done. Most expensive set I have ever purchased but should last me a few seasons since I will be rotating the stocks for fall/winter.

You should be able to just click on the photo or edit the photo and there will be a rotate option, which should rotate it by 90 degrees each time.

Regardless, wheels look mean, and the offsets are on point, nice! I'm definitely adjusting my offsets to be closer to yours.

Good call on the Michelins, I'm also going with Pilot Sport 4S, just one aspect ration larger front/back.

I couldn't be happier with this set and finish. I always come back to the question of whether I'd buy again...

I would buy from West Forged again as the process was very straight forward and I did receive the wheels as advertised with no errors. Built and spec'd as I had requested. They are also much lighter in weight than expected. Only time will tell how they old up long term but I'm confident they won't disappoint. Will add pictures tomorrow.
