Ok. So I did a little digging on the BMW website. They are using Amazon's Cloudfront service. So that basically means Amazon AWS with thousands of servers around the globe and geographically set distribution points to optimize your connection. I know that AWS has servers in Dallas, Virgina, Ohio, and a few other locations because if you just want hosted service, you can choose where you want your data to live. So how the hurricane is taking their entire website ( and possibly services) offline when it should be resilient enough to still function..........sounds like a fatal flaw somewhere. Or possibly like it has happened to me a few times diagnosing issues, "well crap didn't think of that." type issues.

There are a few different things we are talking about in this thread. As far as the RTTI and Spotify, this was a known outage since earlier this week. It was acknowledged by BMW and was in the process of being worked on.

The MyBMW/MyGarage web site has been having problems as well as being sporadically unavailable for the last week or so. Overnight they took down the site and put up the Hurricane message. I guess we can give them the benefit of the doubt that is the case but could also be they took it down to work on it and using the Hurricane as the excuse.

The Remote Services seem to also only went down last night so that could be hurricane related or, as has happened quite often in the past, the services are unavailable due to server/system issues.

All that said, if I had to lay money on it, the reasons for the outages are not related to the hurricane.

I tried to add a 2nd BMW user ID and got a message saying no mobile connection. I think all these issues are deff related to the Hurricane in SC.

I’ll add my voice from the dungeons of this forum :-). Ontario, Canada. BMW app last updated 18-Sep-2024. Spotify out as of at least 4-5 days ago, somewhat similar timeline. That’s one hell of an outage BMW is having. Glad my engine, steering, brakes, and heated seats are not subscription-based.

I removed my login from the car and thought readding it work. Guess I was wrong. Can't fleven add that same id back now - I get the same error.

This seems larger than we think. Not only has my (Android) app not updated since 9/25, but I cannot get idrive Spotify to load AND traffic info shows nothing.

Traffic and Spotify has been out most of the meet for some areas and it looks like it spread today.

It seems like we can’t pay our bills either. I can’t get to BMW financial site after logging in. It errors out…

I assume some sort of system wide issues on BMW's servers so I would not go to any great lengths to reboot or reinstall anything until folks start reporting that their app is working again.
