I'm not a fan of any deposit and especially not a *non* refundable deposit. I can understand a deposit/non refundable deposit from a dealer's point of view but I still don't have to accept it agree to it.

I looked back at my notes regarding my 2023 M2 purchase. The purchase paper listed a $2000 (not $2500) partial payment. I felt that having that this $2000 listed as a partial payment helped ensure the purchase would happen.

And it did happen with no real drama so fortunately I didn't have any need to find out.
