Thanks AKH000 for the insight as always. I will try the 0064 for all 3 values and totally agreed that BU is not able to map the names correctly, do you remember what your SOC names are?

Last night, I ended up just tweaking one of the value from 0145 to 006E from lukbyd's comment above about "006E - 100". Guess what, the range immediately jump from 38miles(full charge) to 50miles. And I request the cardata report, the battery energy content jump to 21.6KWh. Today the weather is very favorable 70F, I did 30 miles with 26 miles range left without HVAC/AC. So far so good, knowing it will take a couple charge to normalize.

I’m picking up 2023 xdrive45e today. I’d rather not spend the 500 for the range extender. Can someone give me more instructions how to do this myself. could I use bimmerutility? I ordered an odb2 to Ethernet cable and Ethernet to usbc cable. I downloaded parallels for my MacBook with windows. What do I need to download on windows to access the car? I believe it is Esys but where can i download this? There are some tutorials on YouTube on how to use esys but how do I locate the file and change it? I would be willing to Venmo someone some money if they can help figure this out. Thanks!

Would it be easier for me to access using bimmerutility? I would prefer to use an iPad but I can get windows for my MacBook.

Which of the 3 values did you change. 1st 2nd or 3rd? And did you change to wert_0064? I’m trying to figure out the best way to do this. Where do i find this in bimmer utility? Thanks!

Hello again. I ended up using BimmerUtility with my iPad and changed the first SOC value from 0145 to 006e and range bumped up. Not sure if this correct so if anyone is has better info please let me know. Not sure if I should change it 0064 for eu value or change all 3 SOC parameters to 0064. Right now all 3 show 006e.

CarData report shows 21.9kwh which is close to the 21.6 EU specs

Another update. I changed all 3 values to 0064 and with full charge went from 47 miles to 51 miles after just changing the first value to 006e alone. That seems like I’m using too much battery so I will see what the CarData report shows.

I have not updated all three values to 0064. Still running on my previous post: changing the top value to 006E. Range is good so far and definitely requires about 7 hours to charge from empty to full. I did notice the range remaining is a bit off usually(a bit on the conservative side). Perhaps I will need to change all three values to 0064 to be spot. How is your experience so far?

So I didn’t want mess anything up or overuse the battery so I sought outside help. Code my bimmer and Steve helped me figure it out for a nominal fee. He asked that I not post anything to the forums I would direct you to him to make sure it is done correctly. I’m confident that my car is coded to the EU specs now.

Thanks, how much is a nominal fee?

I think 150 for coding then a 25 discount for being a forum member. That is if they code it through esys with a windows computer. I don't have a windows computer and parallels etc wasn't cooperating. It's best you contact them directly. He charged me less as I knew how to code it to some extent and he just guided me with my iPad.

You still used the BimmerUtility but Steve guide you with the "correct" values?

I did but he had me change something else that changed the values. Just email him. It worked perfect.

I've used Steve before, having him do the coding (range and a couple other things). Good to know that he will teach you how to do it yourself considering I've had to pay him a couple more times to re-code after BMW software updates.

I wouldn’t say he taught me how to code. From what I learned on the internet and the fact that I didn’t have a PC to use ESYS and trying parallels was a nightmare he worked with me to figure it out without him coding it himself. I was able to change things in the coding myself but I wanted someone who knew what they were doing instead of trying random values and seeing how the car responded.

Yeah, that's what I meant. Tell you which parameters to change.

Hi,
I've got 45e from Germany (EU spec), interesting, - SME2 default parameters in 3006 folder are the same as US spec. I've tried to change them for the test, but it didnt give the range extension result. Also Esys does not allow me to set these parameters to 100, only 110 from the drop down list.
I'm sure that it should be the way to reinitialise the battery like BMW i3 owners do, when the max range goes low at 100% charge. (ISTA screenshot for the i3 as an example). "Reinitialise", as ISTA names it, is actually a factory reset of the min and max battery parameter.

Can you please share Steve's contact information? Is he a member of this forum?
