I stopped reading at "expected to have a softer ride" because I had to step outside and vomit.

A step back to a lighter car with a useable truck. Love the cloth-top cars, so simple yet effective.

"Modulate camber on the fly".

Sounds like complexity. Hate to sound like a retrogrouch but i hope the "old school" non adjustable dampers with aggressive tuning will still be part of the non m lineup

"demand for GT and Gran Coupe is so ho-hum that it might end up making more economic sense to combine the two models into one."

gee.... didnt see that coming. maybe just scrap both of those and give the US a proper touring.

I owned both.

The steering is worse. The adaptive M suspension, even in sport mode, is worse (floaty and pitchy) than the previous-gen's static sport suspension.

There's a reason why the 3's losing comparison tests and Car And Driver's dropped it from its 10Best.

Also owned a current-gen 535i, which is a wallowy boat with overboosted, way-too-sensitive steering.

I hope BMW finds its way again.

In a month I'm leaving the brand, after nine years and the three aforementioned Bimmers.

I'm leaving for Porsche, which still caters to the driving enthusiast.

My Porsche has been built and is currently making its way home somewhere on the Atlantic.
It's all about the technology, far too much of it these days which takes the pure driving experience away. As an example, how can anyone vote for the electronic steering over the older hydraulic version? It's a no brainer. I love my F11, but for the rest of the BMW range im rather saddened by its demise.

Good luck with the Porsche man.

Why do US reports continuously completely overlook facts that might not appear to be relevant to the US but are strategically important to the conception and development of the car for other markets?

I stopped after reading "more softer," maybe more comfortable but I can't deal with a softer 3 series...even though the new C Class is softer and positioned to be more of a baby S Class and who knows what Audi is doing with the new A4 so the G20 3 series might still be the reigning champ for sportiness its category.

Is the G21 a done deal or is there any chances to see it in North America?

No, I think they mean a long wheelbase sedan version as those are popular in China.

I know that the current gen shares nomenclature with another vehicle, but I can't help thinking about the Inifiniti G20 circa 1999 this time.

These 'future' articles on what's to come in 2019, 2020 are usually full of BS. Waste of time.

Go drive a panamera/cayenne and you'll see what a knob cramped interior looks like

If someone offered you $20 or $35 which would you accept if your walet could only hold a maximum of $40?

Obviously the $35. In this case, the option of selling a GC and GT are the $35 because they make more money. More people buy the GT and GC than the touring. Fact. There is no business case for a wagon here in America, why are people still beating this dead horse lol? BMW is a business not our friend. They do what makes money.

The quotes about the GT. The car is specifically created to take around 10% overall 3er units. It has exceeded that figure globally.
It takes around 22% in Europe at least. The 3er with a hatch has also proved popular in Europe against volume manufacturers that still produce hatchback models in that segment.

The 4er Gran Coupe is not on the market a year. It took two years for the 6er Gran Coupe to become the best selling 6er model outselling both Coupe and Cabrio. It has been written off too early here but it is finding its markets.

No G21.
