Yes and I’d demand the base rate or find another dealer.

thanks for the advice, it's probably too late to change the dealer, I've been waiting for the car for 8 weeks, I'll go ask the base rate, let's see what they say)

In the end they left me a percentage of 5.99 referring to the fact that I am not obliged to buy from them if I do not like the percentage... It is clear that after waiting 8 weeks I will not refuse. I decided to take it and then I will refinance it., I'm happy with the car my expectations came true! (august 7 start of production and august 11 at my dryway )

I suggest going to TrueCar and printing out the certificate (you will get a new offer code) in case your dealer gives you any problem. TrueCar uses ID.me also. I generate a certificate fairly often both thru NFCU's site and TrueCar's so there is no problem with doing multiple certificates as long as you only use one a year.
Where do you go to print the certificate?

I also have the Customer ID and Offer Code from BMW but cannot for the life of me find where to print the certificate from TrueCar. Google search leads me to a page where TrueCar says its partnership with USAA has ended. Forum search doesn't turn up any useful results. Can I trouble you to share the link?

Short of the certificate, the Customer ID and Offer Code should be sufficient, right? They just need to put it into the BMW system and verify that my name as a purchaser matches the name of the military discount?

Thanks.

It is on the TrueCar's BMW Military page. You verify your info with ID.me, or log in if you already have, and then it gives you a link to print the certificate with your offer code as well as sending you and email with a link to your certificate.

Customer ID and Offer Code should work but we have had dealers require more when a person didn't have a printed sheet.

Thanks, Dunnor. I was aware of this option. But it only gives me a Customer ID and Offer Code. TurtleBoy mentioned a certificate you could print from TrueCar. I was having trouble getting to that page. He mentioned that some dealers may prefer the certificate over just the ID and Offer Code. So I wanted to get that just in case.

Completely understand. I was able to print a certificate from the BMW website. Bottom line. Good information for others to get access that they deserve.

I have never seen the ability to print the certificate from the BMW site. After verifying with ID.me it will ask you to fill out your information so a dealer can get you the certificate.

It has always been easier and more straightforward to use either TrueCar's or NFCU's TrueCar site.

Mine worked fine as well but it was sent to the dealership and emailed the screen shot and numbers. . Brought it up about a week before it would be delivered , they added to my deal no problem.

Super excited I fell upon this post - I currently have $2,500 off my build ($2000 APR credit (I think, dealer said it came from BMW Finance), plus the $500 military. When I ordered, there was a space on my sheet to "lock in the rate," but every time I ask the SA tells me, "you have elite credit and will lock in the best rate," I think they are waiting until the Sept rates are released, the sales manager quoted a marked-up rate from what I see here verbally. Kinda not been a very luxury experience at my dealer... based on what I see here I think I will just finance with Navy, get the lower rate, and get the $2,000 military, I will make up the $500 loss with a lower interest rate. So painful to have to jump through hoops and blogs to make sense of what the dealer won't tell you.

We have not seen any APR credit from BMWFS so that may be from your dealer. Your rate is automatically locked, no harm, for at least 60 days when the credit report is run.
