On amazon Canada site I see this model, lifting height range is 6.1~17.7 inch, I like the idea, but don't own it yet:

Maximus,
What size tires did you replace? I have same X5 as you, color and all, currently with 275/40R21 and 315/35R21 rears. Would like to replace with some Michelins.

Yes, I used to have the same size tires currently you have on your X5. I have the original tires covered and stored in my backyard, not sure if I want to return this beast after the lease end. I am still very happy with the new tires

My pleasure. It has been over 5K miles on thees new tires with no issues. I am extremely happy to the point with this beast that I want to keep it beyond the lease end.

I currently have 22" staggered summer tyres 275/40/22 and 315/35/22 and looking to change to 21" staggered winter tyre set up 275/45/21 and 315/40/21. Looking at 1010tyres.com converter the difference is below 3% therefore appears to be ok from a similar wheel revolution point of view? Also on the idrive screen it recommends 285/45/21 however what would the reduce width of the tyre do to the vehicle if I opted for 275's which are easier to source?

Updates From +5 Sidewall Ratio Members?
Still looking to get rid of my factory 21” runflats, and replace them with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 SUV tires with +5 over factory sidewall ratios (e.g. 40 to 45 front, 35 to 40 back).
Any new updates or feedback from those of who’ve gone this route? Anyone notice the extra ground clearance? In the event of a flat tire, would there be any issues with using the factory size 21” spare? Thanks…

if you replaced all factory tires with upsized 275/45R21 and 315/40R21 then had a flat and used the space saver spare, that's a 6% difference. the xDrive system would throw an error and you could likely cause damage to the drivetrain which would also likely not be covered under warranty because you mounted non-OEM-spec tires. (the difference between OEM-spec 21" tires and the 19" space saver spare is 3%.) |

Good point, thanks. Yes, I just checked and you are correct, the factory space saver spare tire size is 155/80R19.

Has anyone put 295/40ZR21 square on the 21" staggered set-up (ex. 741m wheels)?
araje I currently have the same question as you did last year....did you find out more on the Bottle Jack vs Floor Jack situation for the X5? Quote:
