Can you provide me with the coding date for the eTJA. My vehicle has the 5AU - Traffic Assistant Professional, 5AR - Traffic Congestion Assistant, and 5DN - Parking Assistance System Plus. Does this give me the enhanced TJA? Thanks |

Yes, 5AR is Extended Traffic Jam Assistant.

Finally after 2 weeks of owning the car got chance to try extended traffic jam assist. Got stuck in Santa Monica traffic and the third option of ETJA came on. It worked flawlessly like it's designed to. No need to touch the steering wheel. Loved it! The only complain is it disengages as soon as car starts driving over 40mph. Even in extended traffic jam there are small pockets where car can go a over 40mph for few seconds before it hits the stop again and unfortunately ETJA disengages then it gives options to reactivate again at the stop traffic. That was little annoying. Also, the warning beep of disengagement of ETJA is not loud enough if you are listening to music even at the normal volume. It should be as loud as the beep you hear in normal driving assist mode when it wants to disengage with red warning light When we don't touch the car's steering wheel for more than 15 seconds. But, love the overall technology. I think its more smoother than Tesla that I drove once.

Do you have coding capability - esysx or Launcher Pro? There are 2 codes in 2 distinct ECU to code. Alternatively you could VO Code 5AR on the 2 specific ECU's, which does not require purchasing either esysx or LP. I assume you option 5AU but not 5AR on your car? |

You have the Driver Assistance Plus package so you don't have the ability to have the ETJA since the cameras are different. Edit: After looking at it further, you may have the cameras that are needed. I thought I read last year there was a changed in cameras, perhaps that was referring to the one in the IC, do you have one of them? |

I 'think' the hardware is the same, just that the i-step coding didn't support 5AR upon release so they didn't offer it.
In theory adding 5AR to FA and VO Coding SAS and HU_MGU should enable it, and it should work in a supported region e.g. US. If the poster only has 5AS they may be out of luck. Last edited by archivedaccount; 10-15-2019 at 05:44 PM.. |

Yes, it just did the eTJA while driving home. I encountered lots of traffic on the highway and it changed to it.

All eTJA does is stop the HOD in the steering wheel from activating below 40mph. You already have all the ACC and Steering Wheel assist capabilities working every-time you activate the Assisted Driving. |

Maybe tangential, but observing my car, I don't think that is quite all it does functionally. It seems to me that in eTJA, the driver attention camera is way more strict than just TJA. For me, in eTJA, a slight glance away for 1-2 seconds reliably triggers warnings regardless of hands on steering wheel, but in just TJA, I have not yet been able to trigger warnings at all when looking away. 03/2019.45

ICM/3000/C_STA_Einschraenkung - set to "keine Einschränkung" to make it work on all roads ICM/3000/CQalcRel_v_Tacho_akitv_kmh - set to the max speed you want in hex - I used 0x63 = 99 kmh - because higher values cause the display to show funny characters when the function gets enabled. the problem is I cannot find ICM? |

NHA is No Halt Assistant, which stops the car, pulls to the kerb (in some countries) and calls the emergency services, if the driver becomes unresponsive or you pull back on the emergency hand brake. Nothing to do with TJA. That code just allows it to work on all road types instead of just highways. |
