Agree man. Im pretty sure BMW NA is aware of this - they will do a software fix for 170 mile issue and then do a part replacement- also hopefully happens before it reaches to the dealer. Mine still in transit to the port in socal

Except you would think they would have done that back in April when they had to pull the remedy. Evidently it was not worth it then, we will see if it is now.

You would think it might as before only vehicles that have already been sold were affected. Now vehicles that have yet to be sold are. ie. the bottom line, at least of dealers, is being impacted.

I read somewhere it was aliens, those pesky little grey ones, and something to do with weird gravitational effects of a flat earth causing this integrated brake system failure... that and Crumble not offering semi-sweet chocolate chip cookies often enough

In my opinion they knew the issue is there even when they got new orders and made them. But didnt have a correct solution or parts available so they took your orders anyways and did the production because if its not the case they would loose customers.

I don't think that is the case at all. The feds would nail them if they knew about all those vehicles on the road that have a potential problem and didn't disclose it.

Could be somwhere in the middle. They knew that there was an issue, but didn’t think that it was “critical enough” to do a major recall like this, however something changed that… like an incident that gave the Risk Team reasons to make it a bigger deal.

The recall was already active for earlier vehicles. What the action the other day did was include some more models and later builds.
