There certainly isn't any new content with the last 600 or so posts. But, I'm a big believer in free speech and if this topic is getting under peoples skin and they want a way to vent, I say go for it.

To your point, the G05 is so good I'm just looking for reasons to go somewhere. The minor glitches pale in comparison.

The longevity of this thread must be just for sport at this point. Maybe this thread gets to 1,000 comments and 100,000 views. Heck, we may all have wrinkles by the time this thread is done.

Comparison pic of passenger side VS driver side rear seats. The passenger side is wrinkle free. Go figure!

BMW is hard at work on this issue, looks like the issue is half solved then. Just keep the wrinkly seat folded down and all is good

Honest Selh05, I'd have no issue with your seats, just wish your pix weren't sideways

Me too! I took it with an iPad and changed the orientation. When I downloaded them it still posted sideways.

The iPad/iPhone uses the orientation sensor to know which rotation you are taking the pic in. However, it is easily fooled, let say you have the iPad laying on the table, you pick it up and take the pic. You don't really know if the iPad thinks its in portrait or landscape mode cause there's no way to tell what position the sensor thinks its in just by looking at it. Sure the pic rotates before your eyes before you take the pic but does the iPad really communicate that to the camera?

So, if you want to take a pic in landscape mode for example (but this works in both landscape and portrait), its best if you first deliberately put the iPad in the landscape mode by opening the camera app, seeing the camera view on the screen and then take your iPad, hold it in landscape mode and face the rear camera towards the ceiling and then bring it down to the subject and take the pic.
This may sound crazy and time consuming but it only takes a couple of seconds, try it and see if that works for you.

Your other option may be to disable rotation in Settings but possibly you would rather have rotation on, personal choice. I find the first method works 100% for me.

You maybe able to get a double credit for this.

1) Missing "rippling feature" of the leather seats on the passenger side and
2) Unacceptable, life-ruining, PTSD-inducing wrinkled seats on the other

I’ve had several back-seat passengers and no complaints, even from my Uber fussy 90-year-old mother in law. She says they are very comfortable, but even for that tiny scrap of a woman you have to put the front seat forward.

If you want nice back seats, you don’t want an X5.

Mine was a mid-May build and the seats have a medium amount of wrinkles. It doesn’t really bother me too much. I just don’t get why the front doesn’t have them too. Seems like they could make them the same front and back if it’s “intentional.”

This issue is just something we'll have to accept if we want the best premium SUV. I did, although it almost got me to buy the Cayenne.
Eliminating wrinkles (by choosing the Porsche) would have cost me $20K over 4 years. I'll take the wrinkles, and mine were not nearly as bad as some I've seen. At least they're consistent, left to right. I now focus on what's good about the G05, and that's a lot of good.
No, it's not intentional. No, it's not more comfortable. It's simply the result of moving to a cheaper supplier. I haven't seen any terrible examples lately, so apparently they have addressed as best they can while maintaining the cost savings. Maybe BMW can take some of the savings and hire some people from Apple to write their code.
I'm glad I bought the BMW, and so is my IRA.

X5 was my First BMW. I was close to pick a Rang rover Velar. I loved its look, ride and comfort but I was worry about unknown reliability.

Before having my first BMW, I thought they are one the finest company in the industry. Honestly I expected more form a luxury 90k car over my 40k Mazda CX9 which is still perfect.

At least the quality control that I've expected from BMW was more. I heard that the fired their seat company and moved with new supplier. So I'm still monitoring the situation to see how a big company like BMW will react against improvement, fix things, customer care. Should I continue with them for my next car?

I love my X5, lots of positive things but I'm also disappointed by the brand.
