M60e. Future model info thread, it should have the same drivetrain as the M760e.
"The next generation of X5/X6/X7 (G65/G66/G67) will likely lose the V8 engine. Instead, M60e xDrive (same B58-based powertrain as G60/G70 60e's) will be the top model."

Keep in mind, we are talking about the M60e and not a 60e. The M60e will be an M Performance vehicle and the top model of the G65 X5's.

Oh I see, to replace the current M60i? Looking forward to the design language for the G65... supposing the G45 X3 will give an insight history suggests the X3 'hints'

Any idea if the electric motors will get another bump like they did from the 45e to the 50e? I sure would love to have the torque of an ix.

No change from what I have seen, the increase in ICE HP is what raises the combined HP.

This is the farthest I have gotten on all battery in my 50e. Trip was yesterday afternoon from my place of work to home with some errands in between. Elevation of my workplace is about 50 feet higher than home. Temp was about 75 degrees. A/C was on low and massage seat in use the whole time.

I have some problems with this car, the 50e.
The wind noise on the doors is very terrible above 100km/u. If you open the door, you can't shut the infotainment off. You have to lock the car. Normally you push the stop/start botten again and normally everything is off. My girlfriend: car is closed and the key is in her purse. Opens just the trunk, sets her purse inside the trunk to pick something up, pushes the close botten, forgets her purse... trunk closes and you have a big problem. Can't open it with the app, because phone is also in her purse... 🤷🏽 You drive 130km and it still stays on battery 😳. So you drain it on the highway. Why can't you set a speed, let's say 90km/u, and above that speed it always use the combustion engine? I know you have the 'hold battery' but I don't want to think about it all the time. I think hybride is engine for higher speeds, battery for lower speeds. |

Welcome to the forum. There is a setting for this and if enabled it will shut down the electronics when the door is opened.

Hybrid in action
My X5 Msport 50e is my third BMW. Before I had diesel models, 520d and X6 40d. I was afraid that hybrids will disappoint me. In Scandinavia at that moment there is nothing else to buy except hybrids. When I got my brand new X5 with all extras, they promised 90 km range only on electricity. Now I am driving the range of 107 km but strongly keeping an old lady’s driving stile. If I want to feel the power of this excellent combination, the range falls down rapidly. The experience is amazing - this car is capable to compete with everything on the market produced by MB or Porsche from the same class. The gasoline engine is the best ever made by BMW. Unbelievable performance. I recommend this model to people which respect sporty feeling, luxury, reliability, ecology and of course, value for the money.

My earlier BMWs would not lock if there was a fob inside, but with the advent of digital keys, it seems that has changed.
In BMW’s hybrids, the computer is deciding which motor is going to be the most efficient based on how you are driving, and the mode selected. Electric mode prioritizes only running in EV mode, but if you push it too fast or try to accelerate at a fairly high rate, it will turn the ICE on as well. In Sport mode, it will primarily run in ICE mode. In hybrid, is where there are a lot more variations on which motor is working. In almost all situations, the EV motor will aid acceleration, even when the ICE is the primary motor in use. If you tell the vehicle a destination with the integrated navigation system, since it will then know the speed limits, slopes, etc., along the course, it can make more intelligent decisions on how best to use the available motors. |

When does the combustion uses most? City. It's abnormal on speeds from 130km/h it uses all the battery. It's a hybride, not a testla |

Long ago, when I still drove an Audi, there was a safety feature built into the electric trunk. If the vehicle was closed and you open the trunk, when you pressed the button on the trunk to close it, there was something (I can't remember exactly what it was) that prevented it from closing if the key was still inside the car.

Would be nice to see that you can set in a speed when to always go to ICE... So you don't need to push buttons all the time when you drive. I'm the only one who knows where en when I need the most battery, not the car. |

Putting more of combustion on high speed and electric on low speed is just one of many optimization strategies One of others includes prioritize using up battery on a trip as it is cleaner and presumably cheaper energy source (you can set in-car navigation to help let the car know this). Ideally on short trip that can be covered by battery, the strategy is try to not use ice at all. Other consideration includes frequent acceleration vs steady speed, a/c use, etc. |

If the limit in the country is 120km/h... then 130km/h is high speed If I did not want to use ICE, I would go for a full electric car (where I'm totally not a fan of and as long if I can never ever buy it). It's just stupid that you loose al the battery on a highway and then drive ICE in the city because empty battery. And to know on the 45e you could give a x% to hold the battery at that level. That's what I'm missing. I have tried it also with setting it up in the navigation (trip of 120km and 100km was highway) It does the same thing, constantly on battery on the highway. I think it is what it is, just gonna put it in sport on the highway. |
