Similar thing happened for our X5 50e that we ordered in January 2024. Production finally started on 5/6/2024 after delays and ended up getting a MY2025. Car was delivered to dealership on 5/24/2024, closed the deal on 5/31/2024, drove it 2 miles to the PPF/Tint Shop. Picked it up today and what a great car!

Mind telling us your initial thoughts on the car? What charging station you going with? Mileage so far both just electric and gas? Electric range your getting? What type of PPF did you go with? Coverage? Thanks from us all! |

I got the Smappee EV Wall 7,4kW but not sure this is available in the USA. Basically you can charge only with solar power so this is a "smart" charger. I read that normal outlets are not designed for charging cars even with the bmw flexible charger. Something to do with the amount of power over a period of time is to much for these outlets. Basically for fire safety. But again this is the feedback for the Belgian market.

I know just enough electrical to be dangerous. The USA is 60hz and I believe most of Europe is 50hz. Not sure how that will effect the charger and they may well be different chargers in Europe and the USA for the BMW. I real knowledgeable guy will be along soon to clear this up. |

The car comes with the BMW level 2 charger in the trunk, but missing the 220 adapter (cost cutting again). It does come with the 110 adapter, but it will take a long time to charge ~30 hours. The i4 came with the Level 2 and 220 adapter so I used this setup for a bit since I have been using it for a couple of years as it is mounted in my garage. I also purchased a Grizzl-E Duo so the i4 and X5 can charge at the same time (20A each). Once one of the cars is done, the remaining car charges at 32A. If only one car is plugged in, the charger can do 48A. The X5 can charge at a max of 32A. The i4 can charge at a max of 48A. This charger has been working great for about 2 weeks now. Since we have solar system, both cars charge at home. On full charge and driving conservative, I get about 42-44 miles before battery is drained. Not sure about the combined range of battery and gas because I have not really used the motor. Still have almost the full tank from dealer. PPF is Xpel Ultimate Plus. Full front package, hood, lights, fenders. I also did PPF on rear bumper and both pieces of the tailgate (I have kids). Tint is Xpel Prime XR Plus 20 on front windows to match factory darkened windows. Windshield has Xpel XR Plus 70. Car is quick when in Sport Mode! |

I like the M emblem on the side. Nice looking buggy. But they put the steering wheel on the wrong side again.
