I have a week 47 build so it’s the week before thanksgiving week as I understand it. That would put me close to the 4 month mark. I am taking delivery at the Performance Center so that will add a couple of weeks I guess. I am hoping to have it before Christmas.

Gotcha! Hopefully you won't hit any snow on the way home especially if you're on Summer tires.

The screen only shows the description. You need to use the "F12" process or BimmerTrack to get the code.

Entering Assembly is 153.

I might as well add to the fun. I placed an individual color order back on Aug 27th for PCD in Spartanburg with the following specs:

2026 X5 x40i

Design: M Sport

Exterior:
-Gentian Blue Metallic
-20 M Star-Spoke Bicolor 740M Wheels with All Season Runflat Tires

Interior:
-Ivory White Extended Merino Leather
-Anthracite-Brown Poplar Matte Finish Wood Trim

Options:
-Climate Comfort Package
-Driving Assistance Professional Package
-Executive Package
-M Sport Professional Package
--M Sport Brakes with Blue Calipers
-Parking Assistance Package
-2-axle air suspension
-Anthracite Alcantara Headliner
-Front massaging seats
-Space-saver spare

I emailed BMW Genius earlier today, and they told me that production of car is estimated to begin Week 2 of 2026 (Jan 5- Jan 11), which is of course subject to change. It looks it will be a nice way to ring in the New Year!!!

Very nice! I see you added massage seats after mentioning you could barely feel it after testing it. Good thing you got air suspension the run flats can be harsh. When you need new tires opt for non run flats you'll notice a big difference. When you placed your order on Aug 27 how long did it take to get a confirmation the order was accepted? I'm surprised yours is scheduled that far out. But I am hearing others are waiting nearly 5 months.

Thanks for the compliment!

In regards to the massage seats, there have been differing opinions. At this point, I rather have it as an option versus none at all. It is just my preference.

I really tried to make the vehicle a good balance between performance and luxury. We own a MB GLS 450 with standard air suspension. I am assuming it will be just as good and comfortable.

As for the non-run flats, any recommendations? I know BMW uses various brands with Michelin, Pirelli, and Continental among others. I have Pirellis on the 450 and just changed them after just 38000 miles but otherwise they ran well and felt comfortable. I put TrueContact 54s on a 2016 Honda accord we still own and it is holding nicely after 2 months.

Finally, I got my Production Number the day after I submitted order and made a deposit. Based on what dealer told me and what has been said on the forums, 4-5 months is what I heard, with website indicating an additional 10-14 weeks on top of normal production timing. I have seen some guys here get their vehicle 5-6 weeks after placing their standard non-individual color orders. So the additional 10-14 weeks seems to be about right in terms of expectation. Hopefully, they can get to doing the vehicle sooner rather than later!

Lots of great choices on the 20" tires. I'm personally a Michelin fan but the Continentals are a really good tire without breaking the bank. On the production number being assigned my dealer said it could take up to a couple weeks before BMW gets back to them. Need to put my patience pants on.

Your dealer saying it'll take a couple of weeks for BMW to get back to them about the production number means your dealer doesn't have an available allocation. Your order is just in an order bank right now.

2025G0540i Thanks for the recommendations. I will also do my due diligence and research since I have a few months on my hands to see what i eventually want to do between the runflats and the non-run flat alternatives.

arRod1981 Agree. I was fortunate to have several of our fellow posters reach out to me by PM to give me recommendations for either going through a broker or with a dealer directly. I want to make a special shoutout to Timmer-Bimmer for recommending Omar Saleh of BMW Macon. Omar was very responsive and to the point with handling my inquiry and providing a highly competitive discount that was in line with what people had been getting here on the forums. He was never pushy and allowed me to make my decisions between his offer and the other 7 dealerships I sent my build. Once I committed to him, he got my info, sent my deposit, and day after, had my production number. I highly recommend him to friends, family, and other posters here on the forum!

Omar is the man! Straight shooter. No BS. I’ve bought two X5’s from Omar and I have a G60 in production with expected delivery mid November.

An order bank is basically a waiting list the dealership. If the dealership doesn't an allocation then the dealer will put you in their order bank for models allocation. You could be first in the bank or there could be a few people ahead of you waiting for an allocation for that particular model as well.

Dealers can also trade with each other for allocations. If the dealer needs a hard-to-get allocation, they can reach out to fellow dealers who have an un-used allocation and make a trade. Omar at BMW of Macon said he could do this for me to get a 2026 M60i allocation, and within 24 hours, he had the allocation.

As explained above, the order bank is where customer requests go when the dealer doesn't have an allocation to use for the order.

I didn't realize you didn't have a production number. From your previous posts it seemed like your order was submitted to BMW for approval of the Individual paint and you were waiting for that which should have happened by now as it only takes a few days. If you weren't given a production number, and your CA isn't incompetent, then you don't have an order at this point and the dealer is waiting to get an allocation they can use.

I guess at this point it really doesn't matter, other than maybe you being lied to, since allocation should come out within another week or so. What I would do though is ask your CA for the production number and if he says he doesn't have one then let him know you don't appreciate being misled and he should have been honest from the beginning. Unless you got a screaming deal I would also let him know you will be looking around at other alternatives.

I didn't realize I should've received a production number right away. I did give them the order awhile back and just assumed it took time since it was an individual paint order. I got 9.5% off MSRP plus the eligible incentives of $2000. which I felt was good. I'll inquire and try to get an update.

That is a decent discount so unlikely you will do much better shopping around. I guess just letting them know that you know what is going on would be worth it.

My wife’s 2014 Audi A5 Cab which she promised our oldest grandson if he graduated HS with honors. So wouldn’t you know he graduated summa cum laude. We’ve been a 1 car fam since June and it’s been okay. I might let go of my X5 M60 but haven’t decided. The deal for the G60 isn’t contingent on a trade.
We have another grandson who is a HS sophomore and I’ve already told my wife she’s not giving away any BMWs 😎

What you do for one you have to do for another. Looks like you will be getting a G65 X5 in a couple of years.

Update: I heard today that my order was accepted with a 3rd week of January production. I haven't asked for a production number yet but I will tomorrow. With that acceptance and production week assigned, I would've assumed they should have provided a production number!
