Agree, the delta is $5K USD for the 40 xdrive vs 50e, minus air suspension. That buys you a lot of fuel, fewer check engine lights and less complexity.

I wish our Sam's was this fast. I swear they had the slowest pumps, and people. The store made a big single lane to bring people into the gas station, and now they've got people waiting at the end of that line for the next open spot.. problem with that is, it doesn't account for people with gas fillers on the other side of the moron waiting. Plus then it backs up the single file line to get in well past the area that they coned off for it.

The good news is it's only bad when the old people are out. Once the sun goes down it's quick and easy.

One small issue with your "unrealistic" comment. All Costcos are not configured the same, nor do they all have the same dispensing capacity.
We have no where near that many pumps at our local Costco gas station. The lines here can be VERY long on a regular basis as I often notice when we are pulling into their parking lot.
I am more than willing to spend a tad more at our local Chevron or Shell and be in and out in a less than 5 minutes and that includes grabing a half case of Modello while the vehicle fills. I am allergic to waiting in lines.

I am talking about my local Costco, as indicated the first line in my previous post: “ …. My local Costco …. “, right?

There are sure weird things when you have so many people filling up. People waiting on the wrong side lane, people forgot their membership card, and people try to fill up in a tesla (I kid you not) 😅.

But in my case, kind like you and many other locals, observe a pattern, such as which day is week or what time is the day don’t have a line at all. I hardly ever pull into Costco gas which I am not the next in line.

You were calling my 20 minute wait an exageration based on the Costco in your area. Theyare not all the same, no biggy Dude.

No you interpret it wrong. I said 20 min wait in my local Costco is unrealistic. So it is an counter example od what you claim Costco wait is 20 min. You were making a general statement. I was making a statement of my location.

Happy new year.

Nice to meet everyone in this new model selection forum area

I am the proud owner of a new 2024 BMW X5 50e (hybrid), but I am having some buyers remorse now.

Attachment 3350747

My original thought was to get the 2024 BMW X3 M-Competition, and while the power and performance would have been crazy good (excessive smiles per gallon), I felt that living inner-city within Bellevue/Seattle, I would never be able to take advantage of the power. So, I decided to go with the X5 50e as there was some smoking end-of-the-year discounts on PHEV vehicles, and I wanted to take advantage of the gas savings from the Hybrid system as I will be driving inner city a lot.

I decided to go with the fully loaded version of the 50e (M-Performance Package, Luxury Package, Shadowline package, hitch, etc.). However, I can't find peace with my decision, as I feel I should have gone with my original decision of the X3 M-Comp.

Note: The cost is roughly about the same for both vehicles.

Can someone help me feel better about buying the 50e (fully loaded version)?
The X5 is a lot more comfortable as a daily driver than the X3MC. It has more than enough power and is more luxurious inside than an X3. Much better for road trips as well. Enjoy your X5!

I paid $3.65 per gallon for Premium at Costco vs $4.25 average in name brand gas stations in my area. That's $11.00 cheaper for an 18 gallon fill up and doesn't include the Costco exec member 4% rebate. I waited about 2 minutes to get to a pump.

I resemble that remark But im not offended. I’m 75 and am constantly amused at the number of “seniors” who have presumably pumped gas for their entire lives and have no clue wtf is going on. They fumble with their membership card closely followed by fumbles with their credit card. And for the record, I’m out and about after dark and I always find my way home (before 9 pm).

Good for you! We have a LOT of retired folks here, and honestly, the difference between people that keep active and take care of themselves vs people who treat old age as an excuse is frankly startling. I have some neighbors that are in their 90s that despite health issues, are more alert and spry than some people I know in their early 60s.

Hehe .. And you are living the "Ultimate Driving Machine" slogan. Some here drive 5k Miles or less a year. You crossed that bridge in 4 months.

Happy New Year and keep enjoying your ride!

Ha! Yup I rolled over the 7,000 mile mark yesterday. I’ve had the X5 just over 4 months. Loving it more every mile.

Okay, I’ve taken my Model Y to Costco to get gas, and yes I was getting a lot of hairy eyeballs…but when I pulled out my two 5-gallon gas tanks people cut me a break…had to get gas for my zero turn lawnmower. You sure they weren’t doing something similar?

I remember being originally in the same build week. But with two stop sales and switch to another production order, I received mine a few weeks later. I crossed on the weekend as well the 4 months mark and 8,400 miles.
This a 50e and I am loving every mile as well. I had twice red alerts during a road trip, which went away. Called roadside assistance and they couldn't find anything and called it a fluke. So far my car hasn't seen the shop yet.

Shocked to see a Tesla owner with an environmentally destructive lawn mower.
