I never got a production date but I think the estimated week may be assigned when the production number is issued. Create an account for BMW garage and you can track it with some accuracy. https://mygarage.bmwusa.com |

Genius was able to help so I figured I share with others who may have similar question. It takes 2days for the car to get to NJ dealerships and it goes directly from factory to the dealership so no steps in between.

It does not go through a port. It will be trucked directly from SC to your dealer. Maybe stop at another dealer or two. Mine arrived the next day after leaving the plant but the website had it in transit for several days. I am suspicious that the dealer may need to confirm it has arrived and a PDI is complete before it shows up as being at the dealer.

Mine was the opposite. It showed on the website that it arrived on a Saturday but didn't physically get to the dealer until Wednesday evening. Of course mine was coming halfway across the country so it could have been the different transportation modes and tracking.

I was told today anything that has to go over the Mississippi goes via train then truck. If it doesn't cross river then it goes via truck. For Dallas I believe the closest train port is Galveston and then would be trucked up from there. The genius estimated 2-3 weeks to get me mine from Quality Check...I am really hoping it is less. I am scheduled to complete production Thursday.

Like was mentioned, it can vary depending on the train schedules, carriers, volume, etc. Mine went into the Awaiting Carrier Assignment stage from QC on the morning of 1/14 and arrived at my dealer the evening of 1/23.

Does anyone on the Pacific West Coast have any ideas of shipping times from Spartanburg?
March 05 - Shipped from port of exit March 07 - Kentucky March 12 - Wisconsin Based on the average speed so far (5.25 mph) it's going to take 23 days to get to Vancouver! |

I'd like to offer some optimism but I know folks on the west coast that waited 6 weeks for their new Corvette that was trucked from Bowling Green to a train yard in Toledo, OH. Trains are notoriously slow with lots of stops to reconfigure.
Be sure you "de-iron" your vehicle before any detailing. Rail shipment often results in paint contamination with metal particles.

That is highly dependent on your dealer and what build slots he has available. You can call Genius and they will give you estimated build week. I ordered my car Feb 7th so it took ~4 weeks to enter production and has now been sitting in that phase for over a week.

I can see "Automotive IronX" selling for $60+ on Amazon and what appears to be a similar product called "Iron Out Rust Stain Remover Spray" intended for bathrooms and kitchens for $5 at my local grocery store. I bet they are the same thing!
