Sales person is telling its more of a software issue
I am being told it is more of the software issue from my sales person but I am having a hard time getting to acknowledge that, after everything i have read and heard, I doubt BMW didn't know it was a software issue since FEB, and are figuring it out now, so I asked if I could order a new one or has he said it would be longer wait time so I don't know if I should upgrade from 2024 to a 2025 for 10K more and wait more.

After owning Teslas with AutoPilot(misleading name) starting in 2014, I will never own another car without very good highway driving lane centering tech. You arrive at your designation very relaxed. It frees up your mind(90%) and allows you to focus on other things related to driving or not. It is also much safer as my wife will attest. Based on reviews BMW, has surpassed Tesla in this regard. Tesla was the only game in town for ~8 years.

Sounds like you made the best decision for your case. Glad to help out where I can and good luck with your future order.

Went into a dealership today, they had two X6 i40 for sale, no stop sale on them. The SA stated they had gotten word today that it will be another two weeks before lifted, the parts are being from Germany, but supposedly the problem has been solved, I got an opportunity to test drive the one in dealer, and was actually about to pull the trigger on buying, but it did not have all the options I wanted. So I am going to wait it out.

Due to the frustration with my dealer and BMW support, I’m thinking of going for a Mustang March-E, I know it’s a BMW forum but does anyone have any comments on the mach*-e? How far is it from the IX1? Price where I live is almost the same

Ended up swapping it for a Mustang GT instead and got some cash as compensation from them. My experience may have been a one off and just unlucky - I would not put you off the car (4wd spec or above) if you are lucky enough to have no issues with it. |

Hi, no disrespect at all. But since you are calling MACH-E a maRch-E, it means you do not even know the car. So, maybe you should do more homework to know the car and not make impulsive decisions...

Hi, no worries. It was just a typo. I’ve watched plenty of reviews on YouTube to know the car well, even if I misspelled the name. But thanks for the suggestion and if you have any insights about the car I’d really appreciate.

I think, the car you drive depends on how long you will keep it. If you are doing what I do - which is not going over the warranty period - then it doesn't matter. You will be ok with both. But having warranty doesn't mean you won't have issues. I had Mustang GT with manual transmission (2015 model). It always had AC issues. I took it to the shop at least 7 times. Warranty covered it, but it doesn't mean I was not aggravated, or did not spend many hours at Ford shop. So, I sold it the day warranty ended. If you keep your car 3-5 years or so, I would do German. If you do 5+ years, I would do Japanese, and look at Lexus maybe... This is MHO.

When I lived in London in 90's, there was a bar in my neighborhood. One of the big bright signs said FREE BEER TOMORROW. And each day you come in, it would be tomorrow... Now, this is the same with BMW, instead it's 2 WEEKS...
