Like color and suspension feel, the wheel and tire choice is a matter of personal preference. There are definitely downsides to each choice depending on what the person is looking for.
Thanks. You are exactly correct. At 75, I was getting tired of getting in and out of my Corvette. I was time to be able to get in and out of my car without grunting!! I bought the BMW X5 because I wanted something classy and comfortable. I was hoping (and truly convinced) that my 20's would provide both.

They rejected my Tanzanite II. My back up was Midnight Sapphire II or Macao Blue. Any strong opinions on the matter?

Sweet locked in with midnight sapphire ii... I have an allocation and production # but not a production dare. I was supposed to be week 18 but individual color pushed it back.

Good luck with the wait! LOL It'll be brutal but SO worth it once you get your individual color.

To this date we still get people complementing our Java Green and see people doing double take looks. Some people ask if it's a wrap, but when I tell them it's a BMW custom color their minds are blown as they weren't aware BMW did colors like that or doing individual colors was even an option.

To that area it should take two days to get there once dispatched.

My order was accepted and I was given my production number over a week ago. Does anyone know how long before they schedule production of my X5 50e? I keep check in MyGarage, but the indicator hasn't moved.

There is no standard timeframe, it depends on their scheduling, the build week, etc. For example, mine was scheduled three days after the order was accepted and some folks have waited a few weeks. If you ask your CA or Genius for your build week it will give you an idea of the timing.

Yep tires for 21 staggered are very limited. Given that u are in Chicago u will probably just need to get set of winters and then can switch back to ur performance tire in spring

I went in for the same reason. First on the list for a 2024 X5 50E with M package and 21 inch wheels. Supposedly Arriving in May, but I don't have a VIN yet.

If you have a friend or friend of a friend who is a licensed electrician you can get it done pretty cheap, especially if you help pull the wire. You current and future driving habits should be considered for the type of charging you do. You can plug into a standard 110 outlet, but with the increased battery size it will probably take 14 to 15 hours to charge from empty to full. The only reason I say now, is housing starts are down and electricians are plentiful. June they will be busy and if the wire pull is in your attic or crawlspace, they will charge a premium.
I purchased a Juice Box through my electric company and received a nice rebate for that. A neighbor (electrician) installed. I've been charging my X3 on it with great results overnight. GA Power has a program for charging electric cars after 11PM. You might check that out as well depending on your power company.

Finally....I've seen some movement on my 50e. I went from "Order Received" to Scheduled for Production". Although they didn't say WHEN they scheduled it. Tomorrow my 240V 50Amp service gets installed in the garage. I'm up to page 101 in the Owners Manual that TurtleBoy was kind enough to post. Of course the Manual would make more sense if I were sitting in the car while I was reading it!

If you call Genius, or ask your CA, they should be able to give you your production week. Once you hit Production Begins then you can get the scheduled production date.

when I was going thru the manual - I guess BMW took away the feature of disabling auto start/stop. hate that feature when I come to a complete stop... im guessing its different for the hybrid models.

Genius said that I'm scheduled for Week 18 (First week of May). My electrician finished the installation of my 240V outlet in the garage where my 50e will be parked. Can't wait! Back to reading the Owners Manual. Thanks again for your help and direction.

It's one of the many awesome features of the PHEV: you don't need start/stop *and* you have full power at long stoplights due to the battery. So you can just sit there and enjoy the A/C, the steering wheel will turn, and you can accelerate instantly...just like the old days!
